  8. 8. STEP 1• STATE THE SITUATION – What are the facts – Is anyone else involved
  9. 9. Step 2• List the options – Make a list of all your options – Be as complete as possible
  10. 10. Step 3• Weight the possible outcomes – Use the H.E.L.P. formula • H – Healthful • E – Ethical • L – Legal • P – Parental Approval
  11. 11. Step 4• Consider your values – Values will help you make the decision best for YOU. values The beliefs and principles that guide the way a person lives.
  12. 12. Step 5• Make a decision and act – Once you have completed steps 1-4 it’s time to make the decision and act. – Commit to the decision
  13. 13. Step 6• Evaluate your decision – If the outcome was not what you wanted, start over and try again.
