3. 3.

This magazine is free so it is just a pick up and read.

The masthead is big, bold, stands out from the background and is very simple.

The selling line is a smaller version of the masthead highlighted behind in a lighter blue to the background.

The cover lines are simple with bright, fun rainbow colours which takes the edge off the seriousness. The outline interesting things for all students.

The main image is a pretty girl showing a lot of flesh, looking tempting but still quite innocent.

It is simple but effective. Caters for all types of students’ courses so there could be a wide area of interest.

 4. 4.

The college magazine colours appear more studious. They are simple and elegant with soft colours. This is more to do with student interest in films than their learning.

The cover is extremely dark so it stands out a lot. The masthead especially stands out with simple, sans serif fonts.

The cover lines advertise have a couple of things to do with college but the others are food, music and games. However, it does appeal to two of a student’s main interests: travel and money, advertising for jobs abroad.
