  3. 3. “Promoting Access to quality healthcare”Christian Health Association of Kenya Overview of CHAK Identity - CHAK is a national Faith Based Organization of the Protestant Churches’ health facilities and programs from all over Kenya that has been in existence for 70 years since 1946 Our members: We serve our members (Hospitals, Health Centres, Dispensaries, CBHC, Churches, MTCs) and communities Partnerships – we work in partnership with MOH, County Health Departments, Donors, Consortium partners, FBOs, MEDS, UN Agencies, Other NGOs, other CHAs,Private Sector, Communities etc

  7. 7. “Promoting Access to quality healthcare” Burden of NCDs in Kenya • It is Estimated that the mortality due to CVD in Kenya is 8% (WHO NCD fact sheet 2014). • The prevalence of Diabetes is about 4.7% (2.7% in the rural and 10.7% in urban areas) • The annual incidence of cancer is close to 37,000 new cases with an annual mortality of over 28,000 • Kenya Health Policy and Strategic Plan have prioritized UHC for NCDs & CDs and RMNCAH

  19. 19. “Promoting Access to quality healthcare” Moving forward • New CHAK Strategic Plan will expand scope to include; CD, NCD, UHC,HSS • Transition from pilot to full NCD program • Integrate Hypertension and Diabetes • Focus on building a complete treatment cascade • Embrace more PPPs to widen scope of NCDs covered • Strengthen Data for decision making • To adopt outreaches by HF to ensure direct & immediate linkage to treatment Christian Health Association of Kenya
