Donaldsonville Historic District (1984)
Historic Significance: Building was opened in 1911 but was empty of goods
when destroyed by a devastating fire downtown. Rebuilt in 1911 as a clothier
and until 2006 served a variety of commercial activities. Rehabilitation and
re-purposing began in 2015.

Original Use: Variety Store
Re-purposed Use: Triple M Bridal & Limousine / Rossie’s Event Center
Historic Tax Credit Used: None
Register: None, but located within the Donaldsonville Historic District
Historic Significance: Building was opened in 1938 and expanded in 1955
and in 1970 to present size. With rehabilitation in 2015, Rossie’s became a
full service bridal and formal wear clothier as well as an event venue for
hosting parties, receptions and other meetings.

Historic Significance: “Lemann Block” located corner of two major
commercial streets downtown; eye-catching for its size and scale within
smaller urban area. Subdivided into four sections – dry goods, hardwares,
groceries, and all-purpose space. Unique architectural style for small town
store.

Living quarters on second floor. Rear of building is a smaller one-storied
building (built 1970s) reflecting similar architectural elements. Both buildings
had a succession of commercial enterprises.
