2. About BlueBRIDGE
BlueBRIDGE aims to develop smart solutions to support decision-makers
involved in the ecosystem approach to fisheries and aquaculture management,
by facilitating the knowledge production chain from the initial phases of data
collection, through to aggregation, analysis and the production of indicators
for competent authorities and investors.

5. BlueBRIDGE for small local
fisheries communities
• Support to compliance with European standards
• Software developers can find in the iMarine infrastructure master data on Fisheries Master Data, such as FAO
species codes and names, gear codes and classifications
• The Master Data are dynamic, and BlueBRIDGE can offer support to develop specific webservices
• Species occurrence information, including images and biological detail. For instance for on-board monitoring
of by-catch, it may be necessary to enable a search for species fact sheets.
• Support to information on the environment and to create maps for communities
• Upon request (not for free) location specific services informing on legal status of a geographic point can be
made available; FAO or ICES area
• Information on Vulnerable Marine ecosystems can be provided (with official measures such as closure or
encounter rules)
• Other special interest areas can be defined by interest groups, and made available as maps enriched with
fact-sheets (e.g. community fishing areas, recreational diving areas, etc.)
• Support to collect information on-board vessels
• SmartForms for on-board recording of species using a mobile application
• Support to semi-automated pdf report generation; e.g. catch and landing reports, IUU (illegal, unreported,
and unregulated) reports etc. that require a pdf format
• Support to data reporting in specific formats; e.g. to comply with specific XML formats
