The VRE approach • A VRE is a web-based system that can be accessed on- demand through a simple user interface. • It provides users with a secure access to collaborative tools, services, data and computational facilities meeting their specific needs. • Created on-demand, hardware setup and software deployment required to operate these facilities are completely transparent to the VRE creator. 5/18/2016 "Towards innovative data services for Blue Growth" workshop 18 May 2016, Turku, Finland 4 VRE is the perfect approach to address the challenges of modern science which is increasingly global, multi-disciplinary and networked
