2. 2. Problem

Front door alarm system that does not use electricity and will restrain the intruder.

Can not hurt intruder… 

Can’t kill intruder… 

 3. 3. Brainstorm

Net launcher

Runs on batteries

Duct tape

Run by hamsters

Solar power

Rope

 4. 4. Research & Ideas

Magnetic link on house is broken, causing the alarm, (i.e., a door/window opening)

Keypad on alarm to set and operate.

Security companies,( i.e. homeland security.)

 5. 5. Criteria & Constraints

No harming intruder

Money/time

Not electricity operated

Make better alarm

More efficient

 6. 6. Possibilities

Runs on gas/oil

Large cage

Bared doors and windows

Trap door

 7. 7. Design Proposal Made from plastic or metal. Mass produced. Technologically advanced.
 8. 8. Approach

Made from plastic or metal.

Mass produced.

Technologically advanced.

 9. 9. Make a Model or Prototype

Start off with a simple alarm. Add nets for the trap and sensors so they could go off. The main base would be made of a mixture of plastic and metal so it would be harder to break. It would be tested in a lap so it would work by the time it was sold.

 10. 10. Test and Evaluate Specifications

I like it by the fact no one is harmed and there is no electricity provided and I don’t like it because it enslaves hamsters.-Patrick

 11. 11. Refine the Design

We have no need to change anything, the design was as good as it could be.

 12. 12. Create or Make a Solution

This product would be able to be mass produced and would be available to everyone to buy.
