  2. 2. At our time there are more and more reasons for writing a professional biography. It could be needed not only for work but also for developing your brand or business, for creating a better connection with your readers or fans and so on and so forth.
  3. 3. It is not a secret that people are more interested in internet popularity nowadays. This is also a reason to share some facts from the life, like learning at Stanford or living in another country for some time.
  4. 4. So, for why to write a biography? The first and the most spread reason – for work and rising popularity. Sure, it is understandable.
  5. 5. Each barber should write a barber bio which will be published on a team page of a barber’s shop.
  6. 6. Second reason is public figures. This is also clear, as everyone knows that people are often interested in interesting details about artists, musicians, etc.
  7. 7. For example, an interesting photographer bio could raise the number of clients.
  8. 8. Another reason is the analysis of art: literature, painting, fashion, etc. A field of literary analysis and criticism has a lot of connections with biographies of writers.
  9. 9. When you know all the details, ups and downs of writer’s life you will probably understand his creation better. The same can be said about fashion designer biography, etc.
  10. 10. Nevertheless, as any other type of paper, a biography has its own requirements and difficulties in a writing process.
  11. 11. A lot of students stumble up different issues of writing a good biography. Especially in universities like Harvard or Yale.
  12. 12. So, which can be pieces of advice for writing a really good biography? First of all, think about the purpose of your biography.
  13. 13. Do you want to highlight the fact that you graduated MIT or you want to show that you are extremely interested in painting?
  14. 14. Then choose a “tone” of your paper. Will you write about everything in very serious style or will you add some funny phrases or conversational phrases? But remember not to overdo with that.
  15. 15. At the first part of your biography, you have to introduce yourself and make clear who are you. A reader should know that this is a makeup artist biography from first passages.
  16. 16. Create a list of important facts and details in accordance with the place where will your biography be published. What should a DJ write in his biography for a work? Should he write about the experience of working as a waiter in 2007? Who knows.
  17. 17. Be fair and write it in the third person. Also, remember that you are writing about details and facts but not about your attitude to them.
  18. 18. Be sure that you remember the required length of a biography. A minimum length of a biography is 500 words.
