  4. 4. Success in MLM starts with s DECISION to succeed. Most never make a decision. They instead, make a choice to TRY the business. That is how the average think and engage this MLM business. Make a Decision to Succeed- and you will.
  5. 5. 2) “Your Heart MUST be Connected to the Vision you have. ”
  6. 6. Your HEART is the REAL POWER in MLM Success. It must be connected to the Dream that you have for your business. You can do anything you want in MLM that you set your mind to, as long as it is Powered by the HEART! People will hear your words, but FEEL your heart. Connect it to the Dream.
  7. 7. 3) “You MUST understand what NETWORK MARKETING and MLM REALLY are."
  8. 8. All MLM and NETWORK MARKETING will ever be are CHANGE Vehicles. They are Vehicles for Life Change that can bring a powerful Success change to people's lives and incomes. MLM is a LIFE CHANGING Agent, that can change lives in many powerful ways!
  9. 9. 4) “Make sure that you have sent in your paperwork and order to your company FILLED OUT PROPERLY.”
  10. 10. Make sure that when you send in your new distributor paperwork , it is FILLED OUT PROPERLY. If it is not, it could cost you a month or two in getting a pay-check, and create unnecessary problems or delays.
  11. 11. 5) “Schedule a Kick Off Meeting with Your Sponsor.”
  12. 12. A Kick Off Meeting is where you "kick off" your business, by meeting your sponsor and getting an initial business plan done, warm market list done, etc. This psychologically is a MUST, as it creates an official "Doors Opened for Business“ mindset, and an official START to building your business
  13. 13. 6) “Put Your Commitment in Writing. ”
  14. 14. With your sponsor, create a "Commitment Letter" stating what you will commit to, and what your sponsor will do. There is nothing more powerful than putting down on paper and crystallizing your and your sponsor's commitment. It will connect you to the Success Vision in a way that only your heart will understand, and your mind will focus on.
  15. 15. 7) “It is ALL ABOUT LIFESTYLE. ”
  16. 16. People will enrol in NETWORK MARKETING because they are focused on enlarging their lifestyle, and future. It is about the house they want, the car they want, the security they want, and of course, even making a difference in other's lives. It is The MLM LIFESTYLE Language, and you must keep that Language in focus, for you, and your team.
  17. 17. 8) “Make the Golden Dozen List."
  18. 18. When a new person comes into NETWORK MARKETING, they need to be focused on what they want their new company to bring into their life. This is called“ The Golden Dozen List." This is a list of the 12 things that you want MLM to bring into your life that is not currently there. Dream of what you want in your life. List the 12 things you desire, and a the bottom draw a line with the date on it, and then sign it. This will show you what you are going to be working for, and can be your "carrot" or "stick" when hard times come.

  20. 20. When you start your enterprise, you must LOOK TO THE PEOPLE THAT WILL HELP YOU - NO MATTER WHAT! This is called your HOT MARKET. No matter what you do, these are the people that will help you in any way they can, and support you in any way possible. Call these folks first.
  21. 21. 10) “Get familiar with the Tools and Brochures your company has, and any other training tool."
  22. 22. Get familiar with the recruiting tools, the presentation tools, the training tools, and any other tool the company has. This also includes websites, webcasts, and conference calls. Learn how to USE THEM PROPERLY, and how to maximize the power within each. It is NOT just about TALENT, but about the TOOLS in NETWORK MARKETING.
  23. 23. 11) “Get a calendar or planner to start focusing in on the time you will spend working your business."
  24. 24. Get some kind of Day Timer, and start scheduling your actions and tasks. When are you going to start your business, decide how many hours are you planning on working, and then highlight the hours you are going to spend working. This will give you a visual map of what your week looks like.
  25. 25. 12) “Ask this question- Who do I know that knows a TON of people , and will be willing to help me get started with some names?"
  26. 26. Call them, and tell them you need their help. Go see them, and see what kind of help they can give you as far as opening doors and referring some folks to you. You will ride their credibility, and their contacts. Yes, you must call your own warm market, but this is a great way to jump start your business and MLM Successes well.
  27. 27. 13) “Who do you know that is VERY Successful? Write their names down."
  28. 28. Then call them. Ask for their help. Ask if you can come and see them, and show them what you are doing, and see if they have any suggestions in ways to marketing it, and promoting it.
  29. 29. 14) “Find a good script to practice, and then reduce it into TALKING POINTS."
  30. 30. There are many great scripts that you can use to call people with, and your MLM COMPANY probably has one. Find a good one that you can connect with, and then reduce it to Bullet Points that you can use in your own style. Then PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
  31. 31. 15) “Find a good third party tool to help in your recruiting and presentation effort.
  32. 32. Many times we have a tendency to focus on the doing everything ourselves, and we end up talking ourselves out of the sale or recruit. Keep a tool handy to let the prospect look at, or listen to, and you can then have numerous presentations going on at once, using cds or dvds as presenters.
  33. 33. 16) “Become a product of the product- and a Success story as well."
  34. 34. You need to develop your own Personal Story, and your first 90 day story as well. Use your products and services, and become a Success at using them. Become the BEST at what the product can do, and the benefits it offers. Then use that story with your prospects to help sell the product line.
  35. 35. 17) “Before approaching anyone, know the 4 Power Words."
  36. 36. The most powerful words that you can use in approaching people are "I NEED YOUR HELP." These words change the person's listening from "What do they want?" to "How can I help?" Psychologically , they are Trigger Words. They trigger our instincts to help. Use them. They are powerful.
  37. 37. 18) " Set a time to start actually calling your warm market list, and write it down."
  38. 38. This little tip will help you focus in on when you are pulling the trigger to call your list, but also psychologically get you used to the idea. Have your sponsor help if needed, with three ways. Either way, START CALLING.
  39. 39. 19) "Ask for people's HELP, Time, Attention, Assistance, or Input- but NOT their MONEY."
  40. 40. People in MLM that come across like they have a dollar/euro bill stuck on their forehead face massive resistance. Your prospect feels your hand already reaching for their money. Yes, you must get paid for what you do, but if you have a much better chance of doing business with them, if you ask for their help initially, vs. coming across like you want to sell them something. Seek their input FIRST, then seek the sale. You will be glad you did.
  41. 41. 20) “You MUST learn how to Neutralize Objections. If you don't, they will neutralize you."
  42. 42. Objections are a training all by themselves. You must learn to neutralize them, and use them to work FOR YOU, not against you. Your company probably has a training on this. If you learn how to master objections, you have learned how to master what stops most people cold in their tracks.
  43. 43. 21) “Know the Three S’s of approaching your friends and family.”
  44. 44. The three S’s are” Short, Simple, Sincere.” Keep your approach SHORT for impact, SIMPLE for duplication sake, and SINCERE so they will FEEL your approach, not just hear it. This will help improve your response dramatically.
  45. 45. 22) “Understand that Recruiting and Selling are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! ”
  46. 46. There are people out in the industry that will tell you recruiting is Selling, and Selling is Recruiting. They are wrong. Selling is Transaction based, and Recruiting is Transformation based. Selling is a one time event, where Recruiting births many events in the future. Selling is about CLOSING people. Recruiting is about OPENING futures. Don’t be misled. They are 2 totally different processes, with different skill sets needed, no matter what some folks say.
  47. 47. 23) “Understand that people are looking for SECURITY in some form from Network Marketing.”
  48. 48. People are ultimately seeking an MLM Lifestyle, but also SECURITY of Lifestyle and Future. Know that when you are talking to them, and ask them what kind of Security is important to them.
  49. 49. 24) “Promote HOPE- NOT HYPE!”
  50. 50. People today are too sharp to be hyped. Hype comes from the head, and mouth. Hope comes from the Heart and emotions. Don’t hype someone, as you will come across like a huckster. Be sincere, come from the heart, and talk to them about the Hope your company and products offer them, not GETTING RICH. You can cover that part later, sincerely and heartfelt, when they have decided that your offer is worth listening to.
  51. 51. 25) “It’s ALL about LEADERSHIP- for you and the prospect.”
  52. 52. People do not follow companies. People do not follow products. People do not follow compensation plans. People follow PEOPLE with STRENGTH. Keep focused on the Leadership factor. LEAD, don’t just tell. Start walking, and take people with you. Leadership is the SECRET to Success in MLM.
  53. 53. 26) ” Always ASK for something to happen. If you do not, odds are, NOTHING will happen.”
  54. 54. Powerful focus. Ask for Help. Ask for Appointments. Ask for Input.. Ask for Opinions. Ask for Referrals. Ask for Time. Ask for the Sale. Ask for the prospect to join you in your Success Journey. No matter what you do — ASK FOR SOMETHING!
  55. 55. 27) “In MLM Success, Objections are either stumbling blocks, or building blocks."
  56. 56. Objections in network marketing are either blocks to build Success, or blocks to block Success. You MUST learn how to neutralize objections, or they will neutralize your paycheck.
  57. 57. 28) “With MLM Success, never play Verbal Judo with Objections or prospects."
  58. 58. Objections are something that actually are building tools for your MLM business. But you NEVER argue or play verbal judo with them. Always respect their right to disagree. And always thank them for bring the objection up.
  59. 59. 29) “IN MLM Success, the easiest way to neutralize objections are to thank them, agree with them, and then gently show them a differing perspective."
  60. 60. All MLM and Network Marketing objections can be a great tool to build. It is a 3 step process that works. Thank, Agree, and Show. It is that simple. Try it. You will be surprised how it works.
  61. 61. 30) “For MLM Success, when you approach someone, be agenda less. Don't have the idea you are going to sell or recruit. Have the idea that you are going to EXPLORE what is best for them."
  62. 62. Make sure that your prospect is feeling the right thing. If you come across like you are a heat seeking missile out to recruit them they will close up. Just approach someone with the idea that this is an Exploration, and you are simply going to explore what is best for your prospect, whether it is product, business, or neither.
  63. 63. 31) “With MLM Success, an Approach is NOT a Presentation
  64. 64. An approach is simply "reaching out" and nothing more. It is NOT a presentation about the company, products, or comp plan. Many folks seem to want to "spill the beans" when approaching. Don't. Simply start a conversation and do the presentation if they have an interest at a later time. Yes, if they ask to see one, by all means, go right ahead!
  65. 65. 32) “To build MLM Success, don't be an "Attack Recruiter."
  66. 66. Don't be an Attack Recruiter, and a Bait and Switch artist. Give your prospect some respect, and work your way into a conversation about your business and products. After a little bit of conversation, say "You know, I have run across the most amazing thing...have you ever heard of ABC product?"
  67. 67. 33) "MLM Success will show up, if you become Magnetic by relaxing the prospect, and building a Bridge of Trust.
  68. 68. Goal Number One: RELAX the prospect. Get them comfortable. Get them talking about their life and their dreams. And become a MASTER LISTENER. Be so engaged in what they are saying, nothing else matters. Build a bridge of Trust by listening, and showing nothing but interest in them. This will relax both you and the prospect
  69. 69. 34) “For MLM Success. make the approach a question."
  70. 70. When you approach a person with a statement, it has a tendency to raise red flags. Approach them with a question. That will draw them towards you, and create curiosity.
  71. 71. 35) “80% of all Success in MLM Success is ENERGY. But not hype."
  72. 72. What people feel from you will either magnetize them, or repel them. Your energy will either work for you, or against you. It is much like a bell curve. Too little energy promotes apathy. Too much energy promotes hype. Be in the middle, and raise your energy level a little as you go. The prospect will follow your lead step by step.
  73. 73. 36) "With MLM Success, you MUST know the Golden Rule of Communication in MLM Success."
  74. 74. Get familiar with this Rule: First People FEEL, then they HEAR! What are they FEELING from you? Hope and Dreams or Doubt and Worry? Get your business in MOTION with the right EMOTION!
  75. 75. 37) MLM Success is more about Failure than Success.
  76. 76. You read that right. Millionaires in this industry all have one thing in common: They were willing Failures at first, to build the Success that lasts. (READ THAT AGAIN!) You MUST be willing to fail, as you build your will to win. It is the setbacks and the devastations that build Success in MLM . be willing to fail, but then get up, and keep going. That is the secret.
  77. 77. 38) “MLM Success is about a riveting presentation with a magnetic story."
  78. 78. What makes a riveting presentation? Get the prospect involved. Ask lot of questions. Let them answer. Let them hold the product if you are there. Let the audience raise their hands. Keep focused on engaging the prospect as you present. And tell a story about what the products have done, and make it emotional. Then ask them if they know anyone that they can relate to that story.
  79. 79. 39) “MLM Success is NOT about dumping, but presenting one bite at a time."
  80. 80. The MLM presenter many times gets out the dump truck, backs it up to the prospect, and then unloads a TON of information on them. NOT! The prospect is NOT a landfill. Present the information one bite size piece at a time, and give them a chance to digest it. Too much info will turn the prospect off. And they will be thinking, "Do I have to learn ALL THIS?"
  81. 81. 40) “In MLM Success, in your presentation, use what we call Value Building Statements."
  82. 82. There are what we call Value Building Statements that can ROCK a presentation! Ones like, "What this means to you is..." or "What this can do for you is..." or "This means this to you..." or "How your family will benefit is..." or "The value to you and your family is..."
  83. 83. 41) “MLM Success is about doing a presentation that IMPACTS people FIRST, then informs them second."
  84. 84. What creates IMPACT? Touching what people Value and hold dear, with the Hope of Increasing it and making it Larger in their life. Find out what people VALUE in their life, then wrap your presentation around it. "This will help you have more time with your children" or "This will allow you to give more money to your church," or "This will guarantee you having more control over your future."
  85. 85. 42) “MLM Success is NOT about YOUR Success."
  86. 86. You need to learn this: People do NOT care about your MLM Success, it is ALL ABOUT THEIR Potential Success. Yes, you need a good personal testimonial, but down play it and make your Success a STRONG possibility for your prospect or new leader, and then show them that you will work hard to help them achieve it. It is NOT about You, but all about THEM. If an ego needs stroking, stroke their ego, not yours.
  87. 87. 43) “MLM Success contains the Voltage Power of HOPE and DREAMS. That is your Power outlet to plug the prospect or downline into MLM Success Electricity."
  88. 88. The most powerful thing you can do to a prospect or downline, is make their dream real. We used to carry brochures of cars, exotic vacations, resorts, boats, million dollar homes, and pictures of enjoying life with us. And we were constantly reminding the prospect or downline what they were working so hard for. We showed the pictures to them. And we also reminded ourselves of what we were working for. Plug them into the HOPE of a bigger car or home, a lifestyle of TOTAL freedom, and let them look at pictures of what it looks like, and feels like.
  89. 89. 44) " MLM Success is NOT about just following up, but RECONNECTIN G the DREAM."
  90. 90. This little tip works like crazy. When you are calling someone back, have the focus that you are simply reconnecting that prospect to the dream they shared with you. "I really enjoyed our last conversation about the new home you were dreaming about. What a beautiful home that would be. I saw one similar yesterday in a homes magazine." This will get them focused BACK and RECONNECTED to the Emotion that their dream carries. THEN you are back to where you need to be to talk further.
  91. 91. 45) "MLM Success is about LIVE Events for the distributor, and prospect."
  92. 92. People in MLM MUST do Live event. It can be a Saturday training, or Regional training, or a simple web cast. But you MUST do these for one reason: It ENERGIZES the base, and also the prospect to take action.
  93. 93. 46) “MLM Success is NOT about Closing. It is about OPENING."
  94. 94. What is the Latin word in CLOSE? Lose. And that is the way many distributors look at closing. If they don't close the prospect, they have lost. Let's shift paradigms. You don't need to close. You need to OPEN possibilities to the prospect, and OPEN a future that they have only been dreaming about. Open their minds and heart to what CAN BE, not just what is. And after you do that, and If they tell you no, it is not you that is closed, but the prospect is. They are closed to creating their Dreams and building a life of Success. They live a life of permanent hope, not Powerful success.
  95. 95. 47) "MLM Success is about one word: YOU."
  96. 96. People are looking for someone to recognize and praise their efforts. The word YOU pays attention to that person, and drives value to their life in ways we could never comprehend. Their name is also a Value Drive. Use the word You a lot, and you will become a pied piper.
  97. 97. 48) “MLM Success is about 2 words: I Understand."
  98. 98. People today want to be understood. They wan to feel like they matter. And the greatest 2 words you can say, are "I understand." Agree with them in part, by jumping over to their side of the fence, and seeing it from their perspective. You may not totally agree with their view, but you can understand it, and that will go a long way to connecting you to that prospect. Understand first, then take a stand second, with that in mind.
  99. 99. 49) “MLM Success is about 3 Words: Yes you can."
  100. 100. There are people out in the world that have never really succeeded at much of anything. They have built a "Doubt Wall" around them, and it is tough to penetrate. But these two words can. "Yes you can" are three words that are music to people's ears. When they realize that someone is telling them they can do it, and will help them, it turns on a Fire that will burn a hole in that Wall of Doubt, and then, they can walk through to freedom.
  101. 101. 50) "MLM Success is about 4 words: I BELIEVE in you."
  102. 102. Many people today go through their whole life without hearing these words. You become the beacon of hope that they are looking for. And if they do not believe in themselves, "Lean on my belief while we are building yours."
  103. 103. 51) "MLM Success is about 5 words: Let us do this together."
  104. 104. People are looking for partnership in this business. When you say these words, it does one thing: REASSURES them. And that is what people are looking for- reassurance you will be there, and help them. Together is another way of saying, "To Gather." That is what you will do if you say that word- gather lots of Success
  105. 105. 52) “MLM Success is about being excited every day and feeling as if it’s your 1st day as a distributor every day.
  106. 106. When you feel and you are exited you will attract excited people into your organization. Most people like to hang out with excited and happy people. If you are or you are not this will show in the way you walk, talk etc. and it will affect your results accordingly.
  107. 107. 53)“MLM Success is about NEVER, NEVER, NEVER giving up, giving in, giving out, or giving way. It is about GIVING MORE!"
  108. 108. Here is a Billion Dollar Secret: When you feel like giving up- GIVE MORE! When you feel like giving in- GIVE MORE! When you feel like giving out- GIVE MORE! when you feel like giving way- GIVE MORE! Give more heart, focus, effort, time, belief, and action! You WILL Succeed in MLM !
