1. William C. Kostlevy holds degrees from Asbury College, Bethany Theological Seminary,
Marquette University, and the University of Notre Dame (Ph.D.). He is Director of the Brethren
Historical Library and Archives, Elgin, Illinois. He has served as Professor of History and
Political Science at Tabor College and as archivist and special collections librarian for Asbury
Theological Seminary and Fuller Theological Seminary. His published articles have appeared in
Wisconsin Magazine of History, Methodist History, the Wesleyan Theological Journal, Brethren
Life and Thought, Christian History. He is the author of Holy Jumpers: Evangelicals and
Radicals in Progressive Era America (Oxford University Press, 2010) and is the editor of
Holiness Manuscripts: A Guide to Sources Documenting the Wesleyan Holiness Movement in the
United States and Canada (Scarecrow Press, 1994), and the Historical Dictionary of the
Holiness Movement, 2nd edition (Scarecrow Press 2009). He is a fellow of the Center for the
Study of Anabaptist and Pietist Groups at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania and serves on
the editorial committee of the Journal of World Christianity and the Four Fold Gospel.
