Portrait Photographers

  1. 1.  DOB: 2nd January, 1938 He is a British fashion photographer and worked with magazines such as British Vogue when he was 22. The sixties was David Baileys decade.
  2. 2. Jude Law
  3. 3. Jean Shrimpton Sue Murray
  4. 4.  Name: Joanna Pitman Taken: Unknown The photograph is of a well known woman in black and white. Photo shows the womans hair being flicked which can be seen as that seems to be the only part of the image with is slightly blurry compared to the rest of the image which has been captured by the shutter speed. There doesn’t seem to be much information upon this image.
  5. 5.  The composition of this image has been thought about very carefully as it comes across as a very elegant image. The image itself is black and white when seems peaceful. The position she is in, shows off her figure even though you can only see her head and an arm, you still know it shows it off. The fact that her jaw bone has been shown within the image, and it seems perfect to the viewer looking at the image and her arms slim and still looks elegant like the image. She is very poise and has excellent posture.
  6. 6.  This particular image I feel has no faults. Its perfect and very inspirational as it just looks perfect in my eyes. The position of the woman is significant, she seems very confident and is beautiful. It’s a picture which can be placed anywhere and will still be admired by thousands. David Baileys photography is the kind of photography which I aspire too.
  7. 7.  DOB : March 11, 1963 Davids photography career began in the 1980s when he began showing his artwork in New York City galleries His photography has been in various of magazines such as Rolling Stone, Italian Vogue, French Vogue, etc. He has photographed celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Lil Kim, Paris Hilton, David Beckham, Uma Thurman, Britney Spears, Shakira, etc.
  8. 8.  Name: Lil Kim: Blow Up Doll Taken: 2000 This image has been signed and numbered Edition of 7 There isnt much information on this image itself on the internet. I have only been able to find the year it was taken in and the name of the image and who has taken it.
  9. 9.  The composition of this photograph is perfect. The photographer seems to work well with bright, neon and luminous colours seems to know what works well together and what doesn’t. Having it mid shot being able to see the model from the shoulders and the top of her head. Making her seem younger than she actually is simple by having her hair in pigtails and having the ribbon which ties her hair a brighter colour than what her hair is actually suppose to be contrasts well with the back ground it stands out. Having the lipstick that the model within the photograph has on matching the background she has behind her is genius. The fact he has chosen a complete opposite colour for her eyes, makes her eyes stand out upon the background.
  10. 10.  This photograph has plenty of strengths because of the photographer thinking about the composition of the image. It stands out and its bright and its very eye catching. Within the title, the image also seems very sexual as relating to the image and its very unique. This specific photographer I can’t fault for this image as it just seems up to the profession standards which people expect in my opinion.
  11. 11.  DOB: April 21, 1912 Died: January 4, 2012 She started to get into photography in 1946 whilst working in New York. She joined Magnums Photo agency in 1951 and then became a full member in 1957. Best known for taking pictures of both the famous (Marilyn Monroe) and the unknown.
  12. 12. Bar girl in a brothel in thered light district,Havana, Cuba, 1954 Marilyn Monroe,
  13. 13. Silvana Mangano at theMuseum of Modern Art, NewYork, 1956 Marilyn Monroe, 1953
  14. 14.  Name: No name, Just a photograph of Anthony Quinn and Anna Karina on the set of Guy Greens The Magus. Taken: 1976 Location: Mallorca, This picture doesn’t really have any other additional information other than what I have already said about when it was taken, the location and th3e actual name of the photo.
  15. 15.  This image itself seems very sweet and innocent which to me gives the photo more meaning. A black and which image which shows an old man and a younger woman who appear to be enjoying themselves and having a laugh seems to show an indication special yet unique relationship which is a great way to show the composition. Arnolds has actually thought about the photograph and might of even timed it in the right time to take the photograph. Nothing within the image is too dark either which doesn’t suggest any dull or depressing matters as such as even though its still a black and white image its bright and full of life. It also seems to fall perfectly with the rule of thirds.
  16. 16.  The photograph has many strengths such as there isn’t too much in the photo, so you tend to focus on the two people within the image and the relationship between them. Also the fact nothing is too dark within the photography its still all very bright for a black and white photo which Arnolds seems to have used to an advantage. I personally don’t see no weakness within the photo and wouldn’t change it because its an image which is up to professional standards.
