In the beginning of the parsha, Moshe took thepeople out of Egypt. Follow me!
But Pharaoh once again decided to break his promise and he set out in pursuit of the Jewish people. AFTER THEM!!!!!!!!Rashi:How could Pharaoh have any horsesafter all of the plagues? This wasbecause there were some Egyptianswho listened to Moshe during theplagues and put their animals inshelter; but now they sided withPharaoh.
Now, the Jewish people were stuck inbetween the Egyptians and the Sea…..
Hashem then told Moshe to raise his staff over the water, sohe did, and the sea split. The people crossed and theEgyptians followed, but while the Egyptians were in thewater it crashed on top of them.
In the desert, the people kept complainingto Moshe and Aharon about the lack of foodand water, so Moshe hit a rock with his staffand water came from it, and Hashem madethe Manna come.
After some time of travelling, thepeople ended up in a place calledRephidim, where they got attackedby Amalek.
So, Moshe prayed and Amelek was defeated byHashem and the army Yehoshuah put together.
