Current Awareness • The Problem: – The Library managed 1,000s of email Ozmosys alerts by maintaining a page on the firm’s Intranet that attorneys could review and select – Requests sent to the library were added manually on the Ozmosys web site • The Solution: – Ozmosys Alerts were integrated into the ILS & accessed along with other subscriptions. Attorneys can now choose their alert & add themselves 24/7 #aall13 Presented by Bess Reynolds 4
  5. 5. #AALL13 Electronic Newsletters • The Problem: – Library staff set up three subscription mailboxes in Outlook with auto-forwarding rules to handle 100+ newsletters – Outlook rules frequently broken meant failed delivery • The Solution: – Implement the Electronic Content Management Module as part of the ILS which automatically checks in and routes electronic newsletters Presented by Bess Reynolds 5

Interlibrary Loans • The Problem: – Attorneys frequently need resources that are not held in our collection, but need library staff to retrieve • The Solutions: – Integrated ILS records from NYLI (New York Law Institute) which allows patrons to request discovered items directly – Integrated collection of eBooks from NYLI allows 24/7 access to 50,000+ ancillary titles #AALL13 Presented by Bess Reynolds 6

  8. 8. #AALL13 Routing & Deskbooks • The Problem: – Library maintained PDF lists of all serials titles and deskbooks available to attorneys by practice area – Attorneys printed, filled out & mailed the forms via interoffice – Serials Assistant manually filled requests & entered in the ILS serials module • The Solution: – Using “My Subscriptions” Module of the ILS, attorneys can manage their subscriptions 24/7 Presented by Bess Reynolds 8
