2. Introduction
A photography and engineering hobbyist, Benjamin “Ben” Perlin
participates in a number of groups and volunteer organizations in
the Nashville area. One of the groups that Benjamin Perlin
volunteers with is the Second Harvest Food Bank.
Last April, Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant in Nashville held a
month-long fundraising campaign to support the efforts of
Second Harvest Food Bank. Patrons had the opportunity to add
extra amounts to their bills, which Puckett’s then matched, with
the proceeds going directly to Second Harvest.
The drive culminated as part of a larger initiative, known as The
Big Payback, that saw Nashville community organizations make
a one-day push to bring awareness and needed support to their
causes. Approximately 800 community groups took part in the
event, which brought in upwards of $6.5 million in charitable
giving. On that day, Puckett’s was able to give Second Harvest a
check for $10,000 to help fund its ongoing mission to provide
food to those in need. For more information about The Big
Payback, or to give to Second Harvest, visit
