  1. 1. WordCamp Fayetteville 2016 101 Track
  2. 2. Choose URL (consider buying .com and .org to protect your brand) Choose your hosting (check reviews and compare plans; ask about security and backups) Install WordPress Decide on any special features you may need (are you taking payments? Etc.)
  3. 3. Choose the theme (consider overall design and features desired) Customize the theme Create or install any special functions (do you have a shopping cart?, etc.) Install plugins (Akismet, Contact forms, social sharing, security, SEO, analytics, other functions) Create widgets for sidebars, footers, headers, etc.
  4. 4. Add all your parent pages Add all your subpages (more can be added as necessary but I add the ones I know) Create menu to organize your pages Add content including words, pictures (don’t forget links!) SEO
  5. 5. Spelling/Grammar (try Grammarly or other program) Do all the links work? Test all forms and widgets.
