  6. 6. The Blogs Well, it’s been an interesting exercise, ifsometimes for me a slow process (slow blog = aslog?), but all things must end. Since startingthis blog about drumming in a band I’ve improvedindividually as a drummer and, hopefully, collaboratively as a team member. Together we’vewritten new songs, broadened our style, decided ona new band name and had fun. I feel I know a littlemore about teamwork, myself, the others in the bandand fellow community members from our reflectiveblog. When we set this task of reflective thinkingthrough a blog, using tags I was a little concernedin how I would be able to achieve this task withnot being in a practice. However by just taking astep back and perhaps looking at the tags from adifferent angle I used my experience in life andthe different work I have done to respond. Thesuccess of completing this diary has been anachievement with the added bonus of learning/hearing the views from other team members also ithas provided food for thought in the future. The
  7. 7. The BlogsThis blog is a new experience, its like yourtalking to yourself.Teamwork for me is animportant and vital part of playing football, as amidfielder its my duty to link play from defenceand connect with the attack. But sometimes its justnot as easy as it seems, and I failed to do so. Atthis point personally I felt shameful of mymistake. I was encouraged from other team mates toregroup and put the incident behind me,encouragement allowed me to step back and evaluatethe mistake I made, understanding that I had moreoptions that could have been as effective, or moreeffective than my earlier decision. We won thatgame and I scored the winning goal, theres no Iin team but there is an I in win.Looking back over the past six months of blogs ifeel we have all benefited from this opportunityto reflect on past experiences, whether its simplyopening up and telling a story or some deeperunderstanding of how to work with others. Throughthis i have discovered that most interactionbetween two or more people requires some level ofunderstanding in order to achieve a mutual commonobjective. In the vast majority of our blogs when
