CASESTUDY Workforce Management for a KPO Vertical – Workforce Management Technologies – Baryons’ Workforce Enterprise, PHP, HTML5/CSS © Baryons Software Solutions www.baryonssoftsolutions.com The client is a Knowledge Process Outsourcing organization spread across India, Philippines and USA. CONTEXT The client had a need to implement a Workforce Management system which would allow them to establish HR processes, engage their employees, establish discipline, measure productivity, create rewards, manage shifts, manage allowances, and automatically generate their payroll. Baryons’ Workforce Enterprise platform was chosen for the implementation as it allowed for high flexibility to meet the client’s niche requirements. SOLUTION Baryons conducted a business study on location to understand the client’s business and worked with their HR and executive teams to document their requirements for such a system. The requirements we mapped against the Workforce Management product and the customizations required were identified. Post the business study, a customization cycle was undertaken to tweak existing modules and build new ones, before rolling out the system. Baryons’ Workforce Enterprise solution provides configuration flexibility and customization to fit the needs of an organization. Out of the box it provides for the management of the employee life-cycle from on-boarding to exit; including Attendance, Leave, Productivity, Performance/Appraisal, C&B and Payroll. Skills & Training management, Organization Planning, Hiring, 360 Degree Appraisals are available as separate modules. Elearning courses, process quizzes, regular process updates etc can be extended to the workforce through an eLearning extension. Critical functionality can be extended to users in the field through the Mobile Workforce module. The solution comes with several out of the box reports, and the robust reporting model allows us to build any reports that are needed for an implementation. The solution comes with an Intranet Portal with Social Features, which serves a gateway to the HR Portal. It can be customized to be usable as a gateway to your existing applications, content, process documentation; and serve as the Organizational Intranet as well. Baryons implemented the base solution and also built custom extensions to implement effort tracking rules for the timesheets, a desktop agent (Workforce Listener) to implement absence control, thereby making the HR operations 100% automated, embellished with a strong decision support system in form or a reports dashboard for every aspect of Workforce Management. HIGHLIGHTS  Baryons was the product vendor while an implementation partner worked with the client to understand and document requirements. Baryons supported the implementation partner with business analysis and creating the customizations required.  A complete set of executive reports were built to give organizational leaders high visibility into the workforce and serve as a decision support system.
