Environment OPEN LAB QUALITY AND CONSISTENCY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 5 In Mobile World Lab we understand the modern world complexities are very difficult to simulate in a laboratory, so we decided to take the lab in-situ We also know that by putting the products in real environments for testing is very complex, so we have worked to create effective processes and efficient methods to ensure the quality and consistency of our tests and final results Without the right partners, none of this would be possible. The Mobile World Lab is a consortium of companies and institutions that meet world-class capabilities and experience to ensure that we offer the best services in the market, at a fair price

Mobile World Lab In 2008, with the 22 @ Barcelona Urban Lab project, the 22 @ Barcelona’s district was elevated as a place to test innovative solutions for companies wishing to implement in any field tests. This project was intended to help companies that were developing innovative projects that were in av pre-sales phase. In 2013 borns the Mobile World Lab as an open laboratory in the field of mobility and Smart City dedicated to test and validate services, devices and next generation networks in real environments in the whole city of Barcelona. The Mobile World Lab is an evolution of the Urban Lab, and allows to combine efforts to continue it and attract international companies. The Mobile World Lab offers companies the infrastructure of the city (streets, municipal buildings, services, etc.), to carry out their tests. 6
  8. 8. What is and what is not the Mobile World Lab What is,... What is not,... · Is NOT a test space for products or services on the market or already being marketed. · is NOT a test space for innovative projects that have no direct benefit but on the management of the City Council or the public. · It is NOT a way to finance innovative projects. · Implies no commitment by the City Council to implement long-term solution tested in the Mobile World Lab. · It is a test space for those products that have a direct involvement in the operation of the city or the services provided by the City Council. · It is a test space to accommodate projects that provide benefits to citizens and to resolve unresolved needs. · It is a test space to accommodate projects that are aligned with the objectives, priorities and lines of action of the City Council. 7
  9. 9. 9 Criteria for projects selection The projects are prioritized according to the following criteria : A. Projects that have a direct involvement in the operation of the city or the services provided by the City Council. B. That provide benefits to citizens and solve unresolved needs. C. To provide an innovative perspective as a whole or as an evolution of an existing service D. That are aligned with the objectives, priorities and lines of action of the City Council. E. Services that are not available in the market F. Need a business alliance to carry out the pilot 8

Availability of municipal buildings and public roads. Quick results / points of product improvement. Reduces the time to market of products. Brand visibility at City Council level.
