Rutgers Cooperative Extension is participating in several events for New Jersey Money Smart Week from April 5-12, 2014. This includes presenting a free webinar on the top 12 things people need to know about managing personal finances. Rutgers Cooperative Extension will also exhibit at the Road to Personal Wealth conference on April 5th, the first day of Money Smart Week, to provide information on personal finance programs and resources. Money Smart Week is a national initiative to provide free financial education resources and events in communities.

Barbara O’Neill 848-932-9126 oneill@aesop.rutgers.edu Rutgers Cooperative Extension Participating in New Jersey Money Smart Week Events Money Smart Week is an annual event designed to provide consumers with free, unbiased information to better manage their personal finances. It will be held April 5-12, 2014. Started in Chicago in 2002, the program is managed by the Chicago Federal Reserve and includes successful campaigns in more than a dozen states and clusters of events and activities in nearly 40 states. In New Jersey, Rutgers Cooperative Extension is partnering with the New Jersey Coalition for Financial Education (NJCFE) to present a free one-hour webinar How to Be Money Smart: Twelve Things You Absolutely Need to Know. The webinar will be held Thursday, April 10 at 4 pm EDT and will be presented by Dr. Barbara O’Neill, Extension Specialist in Financial Resource Management. Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE) will also be exhibiting at the Road to Personal Wealth conference at Kean University on Saturday, April 5, the first day of Money Smart Week. The exhibit will feature information on the RCE Small Steps to Health and Wealth ™ program, personal finance materials, and a drawing for a “Show Me the Money” gift basket.
