  20. 20. THE EPIC ESL CHALLENGE The year is 2033. Out society is now completely digitized and with the exception of a few elders, we all now speak only Mandarin. You wake up from your powernap to a retinal news alert. Earth has been invaded by a new planetary species, who identify themselves as the Monoglots and have come to eradicate humanity unless their demands are met. They speak a strange language that no one remembers. With the TESOL training you had in your youth, you quickly realize its an ancient language called English. But the problem is that no one can communicate with them, not even Earth’s leaders! The Monoglots have given Earth less than 1 month to counter negotiate their contract to take over our civilization. You are the only hope left. Luckily you know not only the intricacies of this language but you also have the exceptional skills to teach others. You and your fellow elders have the epic quest to teach as many as your Earthling this language by Nov 31st at midnight in order to negotiate a cease fire and save your civilization from eternal occupation. You and the English elders decide to divide into teams and conquer this task to create as many effective English lessons to teach the worlds citizens this ancient language in the quest to negotiate successfully with the Monoglots to save the world. You get points for both creating English courses, getting them downloaded them but also for when you positively comment on your fellow elders classes and offer constrictive suggestions to make them better - after all, earths future lies in your TESOL skilled hands! Should you want to add more elders to your ranks you will also get points, and bonus points are also going to be given when you provide suggestions on how to make the platform better. Should you choose to join this battle for Earth, you can email me your team member names by this Friday at 5pm....
  21. 21. THE SCORING SYSTEM5 Points – Create a Course4 Points – Getting real students to download your courses3 Points – Invite Fellow TESOL fellows to play game2 Point – Positively Commenting on another TESOL course1 Point – For getting a positive comment on your courseTeam with the highest score wins!
