MSP in Sweden • Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management has been commissioned to carry out Sweden's maritime spatial planning • Ministry of the Environment • Three plans – the Gulf of Bothnia, the Baltic Sea, the Western Sea • Plans will be adopted by the government • Guiding Maritime Spatial Plans – but possibility to adopt regulations prohibiting or limiting activities
  3. 3. Swedish MSP borders on: 9 neighbouring countries (MSP) And overlaps with: 65 municipalities (comprehensive plans) 14 regions and counties (regional plans and strategies) Cooperation

  5. 5. Process • We are up-and-running! • Planning and dialogue in several steps • Plan proposals (and regulations) to be sent for governmental decision in 2019 • Strategic environmental assessment & socioeconomic analysis integrated into the planning process
