CyanogenMod CyanogenMod is an opensource replacementfirmware for smart phones and tablet computers basedon the Android mobile operating system. It offers features and options not found in theofficial firmware distributed by vendors of these devices.
Features supported by CyanogenMod • Native theming support • FLAC audio codec support • A large Access Point Name list • An Open VPN client • An enhanced reboot menu • support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB tethering
• According to its developers, CyanogenModdoes not contain spyware or bloatware• CyanogenMod is also stated to increaseperformance and reliability compared withofficial firmware releases

CyanogenMod 6Steve Kondik released CyanogenMod 6, based onAndroid 2.2 code named Froyo, for theNexusOne, Dream, Magic, Droid, Aria, Legend,Desire and myTouch 3G Slide. A releasecandidate of CyanogenMod 6 became availableon 11 July 2010, and the stable version wasreleased on 28 August 2010
CyanogenMod 7CyanogenMod 7 firmware is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbreadwith additional custom code contributed by the CyanogenModTeam. CyanogenMod 7 development began when Googlereleased Android 2.3s source code. On 15 February 2011, thepublic version of CyanogenMod 7.0 was released, based onAndroid 2.3.3. CyanogenMod 7.1 was released on 10 October2011, based on Android 2.3.4. The latest stable version,CyanogenMod 7.2 was released on 16 June 2012, based onAndroid 2.3.7 bringing a predictive phone dialer, lock-screenupdates, ICS animation backports and many bug fixes
