Open Calls
BIG IoT offers up to 750.000 € for your new ideas
for IoT business development
First Open Call closes on June 16th, targeting IoT platforms/service providers
willing to provide new data to the project through the BIG IoT API and
Marketplace.
The second Open Call will be published in January 2018, targeting also IoT
Applications providers.

Barcelona Pilot
 Using infrastructure based traffic detectors to measure speed, car count
and related parameters.
 These detectors are provided by WorldSensing, who also provides
parking spot sensors.
 Seat provides air quality sensing devices on connected cars.
 Our IoT platforms provide access to connected buses, connected cars,
over 500 street parking sensors, several road-side magnetometers
control-stations, and 37 Bluetooth/Wi-Fi antennas in the city.

 Access to Open Data and Barcelona City platforms (such as SENTILO) will also be
enabled through the BIG IoT API, giving access to

as a traffic information center tool, a smart parking app and green route
planning.

 Relevance for BIG IoT: usefulness &

proposal contributes to further maturity and
integration of IoT interoperability, which are
beneficiaries of the proposed solution
availability after the end of the project
 Technical excellence: quality of objectives and
innovative elements present in the proposal
 Quality of implementation: feasibility of the
work plan, quality and effectiveness of the
technical methodology
 Quality of the team: quality and relevant
experience of the individual participants
 Economic fairness: the requested budget
should be adequate with the proposed work
plan.
