Chambers has 14 years of experience developing and implementing nationally-recognized and award winning, informal youth-focused technology education programs. Lisajoined TECH CORPS in 1999 and served as the State Director of the Ohio chapter. In 2011, shewas named the TECH CORPS National Executive Director. TECH CORPS is a nonprofitorganization dedicated to ensuring K-12 students have equal access to technology programsand resources that enhance early learning and encourage them to pursue Computer Scienceand Information Technology educational and career pathways. TECH CORPS developstechnology programs and deploys tech-savvy talent to assist K-12 schools and youth-servingorganizations across the country. Over the years, partners such as Cisco, HP, Intel, JPMorganChase, Microsoft, NCTA and Time Warner Cable have provided TECH CORPS with the fuel todeliver much-needed technology resources to K-12 students and teachers. Since 1995, morethan 10,000 TECH CORPS volunteers have shared their time and talents assisting schools andnonprofit organizations in their communities. Under Lisa’s leadership, TECH CORPS Ohiodeveloped four technology education programs: Girl TECH CORPS in 2006, Camp IT in 2007,TECHie Club in 2008 and TECHie Camp in 2009. As the National Executive Director, Lisa willwork to build the organizational infrastructure and partnerships to make TECH CORPS programsavailable to students across the U.S. Lisa’s work has been recognized and honored at the local,state and national levels. She was named a “Modern-day Technology Leader” by US BlackEngineer & Information Technology magazine; qualified as a finalist for the Cables Leaders inLearning Award, and received the Technology Innovation Award in Nonprofit Service Deliveryfrom TechColumbus. Lisa is a member of the National Center for Women and InformationTechnology, K-12 Alliance, a member of the Computer Science Collaboration Projects ChangeAgents Council, a Board Member of the Teaching and Learning Collaborative and was appointedby the Governor to serve on the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority Board in 2009.
