Not having paid what he borrowed on the watch, Vijay takes it out of Ajay’s possession with out his consent. He drives the lorry in a certain direction, in order that he may dishonestly take the treasure. As soon as the lorry begins to move, Ravi has committed theft of treasure. ✓ ‘Amala’ takes a watch belonging to ‘Vimala’ out of Vimala’s possession, without Vimala’s consent, with an intention of keeping it until she obtains money from Vimala as a reward for its restoration. Ingredients of THEFT  Movable property  Out of the possession of any person  Dishonest intention  Without consent  Moves that property ✓ ‘Prasad’ sees a mobile phone belonging to ‘Kumar’ on a table in Kumar’s house. Prasad hides the phone in a place where it will ever be found by Kumar, with the intention of taking it from the hiding place when the loss is forgotten. He thus induces Ajay to give him money. • ‘Karan’ threatens ‘Arjun’ that he will keep Arjun’s child in wrongful confinement, unless Arjun will sign and deliver to Karan a promissory note binding Arjun to pay certain monies to Karan. Arjun signs and delivers the note.
