  3. 3. Prezi  Prezi is a web-based presentation tool using a map layout and zooming to show contextual relationships. The web 2.0 application can be used to present a new unit to the classroom by creating a concept map highlighting key content for the students to view. The map layout allows for emphasis by zooming in on text or images and displaying the relationship between the information. 
  4. 4. PhotoPeach <ul><li>PhotoPeach  is a simple slideshow web based application that makes slideshows from photos. It is designed to allow others to make comments on slideshows and to embed slideshows into blogs or on personal websites. This site is a great application for teachers to share pictures of students with parents of learning happening in the classroom. It can be used a form of visual communication. The site is also easy to navigate, which can allow students the ability to create presentations and once again be able to share with families.   </li></ul>
  5. 5. SweetSearch SweetSearch is a search engine that searches only the sites that been reviewed and approved by a team of librarians, teachers, and research experts. There are 35,000 websites that have been reviewed and offers five niche search engines. This site is great for teachers to protect the viewing of their students. SweetSearch also have two niche search engines, SweetSites and Sweet Search for Me. SweetSites is organized by grade and subject area and Sweet Search 4 Me is for elementary students. The site would be beneficial during research projects to allow students to obtain educational information while safely accessing the web. 
  6. 6. <ul><li>PlanbookEdu   is an online lesson planner that makes it easy for teachers of all grade levels to create, share and print their lesson plans. While this site does charge for certain services it also offers group rates. The site would be beneficial for teachers looking to work in a collaborative environment. It allows for common lesson plan formatting among grade levels and the ability to share lessons amongst colleages.  </li></ul>PlanbookEdu

CarrotSticks <ul><li>CarrotSticks is an online multiplayer game that improves math skills for 1st through 5th graders as they practice and compete with students around the world in mathematics.   This site is great for teachers to engage students in mathematics and enjoy playing against others while learning. Students in today's classroom are attracted to technology and playing games online. The site is helpful in the rigorous practice it allows for students and at their targeted grade level, while being a safe program for students to learn. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Teacher Tube <ul><li>Teacher Tube  is the teacher version of You Tube! It's a site where teachers can access instructional videos, documents, audio, blogs, and professional development. There's a huge community of educators to use and/or are willing to help teachers to navigate the site, or specifics related to instruction.   </li></ul>
  9. 9. Teacher 2.0 <ul><li>Teacher 2.0  is an online social network site for educators wishing to combine Web 2.0 and social media. There are forums, video, recordings, live shows, groups, and blogs. Teachers can also customize personalized pages. It's a great starting point for teachers to start being a part of digital dialog.  </li></ul>
  10. 10. Flashcard Exchange <ul><li>Flashcard Exchange  is an internet application where flashcards can be created, studied, printed, and downloaded. This is a great site for students and teachers alike. For students, they can create cards to help study for exams such as, AP, SAT, GRE, etc. For teachers, it's a great way to teach phonics, parts of speech, vowels, consonants, etc.  </li></ul>
  11. 11. Anagramarama <ul><li>Anagramarama  is a great website which offers free downloadable software. It's a great way for students to increase their vocabulary through the use of repetition, sight words, etc. The goal is to find as many words in the allotted time in oder to make it to the next level. This can be incorporated into the classroom as a contest to engage students in learning about words.  </li></ul>
  12. 12. Teach-nology <ul><li>Tech-nology  is a great online resource for teaching looking for printable or customized rubrics. Rubrics make grading quick, clear, and objective. Since schools have increased performance-based education, the need for performance-based assessments soon followed.  Rubrics are one of the many tools available to assess students performance.   </li></ul>
