'Fat Cat Wednesday'
In the first week of January, it was reported
that a vast number of CEOs and managers of
UK businesses had already earned the
average yearly wages of their employees.
Wage inequality and the gap between rich and
poor is a currently a burning topic in the
commerce and financial sectors.

Trump = financial
crisis?
The former US Treasury Secretary has
warned that President Elect Donald Trump's
new policies could potentially trigger a
financial crisis. Lawrence Summers, who
served under Clinton in the 1990s, has
strongly criticised Trump's proposed
deregulation of certain sectors.
The Trump administration have also promised
to dismantle the The Dodd–Frank Wall Street
Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.

Another financial
crash imminent?
Steve Eisman, the man who predicted the
2007­2008 financial crash, has again
predicted that a major crisis for Europe's
banks.
According to Eisman, Italy's banks are most
at risk, while England's are among the most
stable in Europe. While we can't say for
definite whether his predictions are destined
to come true, but his insight into the financial
market, and how he has profited from it is
worth taking note of.

Post­Brexit Economy
Performing Well
In somewhat surprising, but positive news, the
UK's economy is actually performing better
than expected.
Despite December forecasts predicting a post­
Brexit slump, every sector of the British
economy is performing better than the grim
predictions. While we still don't know what will
happen when the act of leaving the EU is
actually carried out, for the time being assured
stability of the UK economy is positive.

Women led start­ups
According to a report by The Guardian and
Coutts and the Centre for Entrepreneurs:
"38% of serial entrepreneurs under 35 are
female." Although the number of female
entrepreneurs is significantly less than their
male counterparts, this number is increasing
and they are paving the way for future
generations.
