BACKGROUND Problem/Issue ›There is high numbers of users per Node and causing high amount of session setup failures ›Increasing user license was not an option at that moment in time Resolution ›It was found that tInactivitytimer (MO:Rcs) was set to 61 seconds ›In 3g network, transition from HS>FACH was 6s and FACH>Idle was 6s ›Hence, the proposal was to reduce tInactivityTimer to reduce connected users ›This was done in two stages to monitor the impact: 61-> 30, 30>->15 Ericsson Internal | 2014-06-20 | Page 2
  3. 3. PARAMETER › tInactivityTimer = 61 { 0, 10..86400 } The time a UE can be inactive before it is released. 86400s = 24 hours Special values: 0 is used to turn off the use of this timer.
