How to Submit Comments to MCSAC

  1. 1. MCSAC Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee
  2. 2. Defining MCSAC “The mission of the Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee is to improve highway safety by providing advice and recommendations to the Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on motor carrier safety programs and motor carrier safety regulations.” “MCSAC is comprised of 20 members from the motor carrier safety advocacy, safety enforcement, industry, and labor sectors.”
  3. 3. MCSAC Contact eMail For questions concerning MCSAC or for more information, you can contact via e-mail at: mcsac@dot.gov
  4. 4. Problems Faced by Drivers Although MCSAC provides commenting sessions for drivers, it is nearly impossible for these professionals to attend the meetings which are held in Washington, D.C. Not only due to obvious BIG RIG parking access, but the majority of OTR truckers are “Running the Road” at the time of the scheduled meeting. For CDL drivers to make the meetings in person, would be a great sacrifice to their income earning needs.
  5. 5. …But There is a Way Regardless of the demands and responsibilities placed on these industry professionals, drivers can still play a MAJOR ROLE in having their voices heard at the MCSAC Meetings. “Voices” that can help shape the future of FMCSA recommended safety programs and industry regulations that will have a direct impact on their driving careers.
  6. 6. Social Media impact! Trucking Social Media is a powerful tool and there is still one more avenue to be taken by professional truckers that will increase Driver Participation impact, along with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Blogs and Forums . . .
