  2. 2. OVERVIEW Esports leagues have streamlined and grown exponentially in the past few years. From H1Z1, to NBA2K to Overwatch, talk of what the next game to become a league or tournament dominates conversation IRL and over Discord. While extended format seasons make for near perfect episodic content, the longer run time and increasing number of viewing options can make it difficult to stand out. For this panel, we sit down with professionals working in the esports industry in 2018 to discuss what is working within esports leagues and tournaments, what’s not, how to grow a following and and what the future looks like.

  7. 7. PANELIST: CHRIS MANN With more than 15 years of experience working in the sports business, Chris Mann brings a wealth of brand marketing knowledge to NRG. Having followed the rise of esports closely, Chris joined Endeavor Global Marketing in 2016, jumping at the opportunity to work with an agency at the forefront of the growing esports vertical. At Endeavor, Chris served as the Senior Account Director overseeing T- Mobile's entry into esports. During that time, he worked on partnerships with Riot Games, Blizzard, Twitch, TSM, Cloud9, the Houston Outlaws along with the Overwatch League and World Cup. Prior to joining Endeavor, Chris worked on partnerships with properties including the UFC, NHL, DreamWorks, MLB, and NFL. On the brand side, Chris has supported PepsiCo, Campbells, Sirius, York and more on their sponsorships.

PANELIST: NICK CICERO Nick is the founder and CEO of Delmondo, the leading cross-platform social video analytics and branded content software, measuring Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Stories, YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat, Twitch, OTT and first-party video players.  He is a leader in building digital content initiatives with a proven ability to set vision, strategy, and execute on numerous innovative projects for some of the world’s largest brands and publishers like Viacom, Red Bull, Turner Sports, NBC Sports, Red Bull, UFC, H1Z1 Pro League and many more.
  9. 9. PANELIST: SAM ASFAHANI With several years' experience in gaming, Sam moved to New York in 2016 to build the NBA's strategy for the burgeoning esports industry. Having been an integral part of the design and launch of the NBA 2K League, Sam lead the League's content and media verticals, and was the Executive Producer on all live broadcasts and productions. Most recently, Sam launched OS Studios, a social venue focused on gamers, content creators and esports; housing state of the art streaming and gaming booths and an industry-leading content agency.
  10. 10. PANELIST: SHAUN MCBRIDE McBride is better known by his online name, Shonduras, a social-media celebrity active on YouTube, Instagram, Twitch and Snapchat. Named to Forbes exclusive 30 under 30, he recently started his own esports team, Space Station Gaming, that has quickly grown to be one of the most popular teams in the United States. His teams under the Space Station Gaming name, compete in a variety of different leagues and tournaments.
