How To Regularly Defeat A +5 Percibel (with an attacking team about….pdf

  1. 1. How To Regularly Defeat A +5 Percibel (with an attacking team about the same power) I’m writing this simply because I know how difficult it is to defeat a +5 Percibel, when you come upon one in a defensive team in Alliance War. To try to face him head on is all but destined to fail, unless you seriously overpower him, but even in the best of circumstances, he can give you a really hard time. However, there is a much more efficient way to beat him, and all it requires is patience and a bit of luck. The first thing you want to do is set yourself up a team that can survive for a long time. When I know I’m going to be fighting a team that has a +5 Percibel, I use the following team:
  2. 2. I use this team for a very specific reason. For most people, it’s obvious why I use Mary, but for those of you who don’t know her, Mary is arguably *the* single most important hero in the entire game. Mary’s skill works like this: When you use it, for the next three turns, 70% of the damage that every other hero on your team does is stacked up, over and over again. Then, after the end of the third turn, all of that damage hits at once, doing more damage in one game tick than any other hero. Mary is solely responsible for most players beating the campaign. She belongs in any mono Dark team. After Mary, I use Morella, and I do this immediately after Morella and before the other three heroes because Morella’s skill increases Damage Taken by every hero on your opponent’s side by 20% immediately, and then on top of that, for every debuff that is on each hero, that hero gets another 20% increase to Damage Taken, up to 60%, meaning that Morella can cause the entire opposing team to take 80% more damage, if the stars align. This is incredibly advantageous, and using it immediately after Mary gives every other hero that follows Morella the ability to do even more damage than they would otherwise. After Morella, I use Loki, and I use him here specifically because of what Morella does. Loki, on top of doing damage, inflicts Trickery on the entire opposing team for five turns, and it can stack up to three times. For each stack of Trickery, each hero’s healing and shielding is reduced by 34%. If you can stack this thrice, this means that the entire team’s healing and shielding ability will be reduced by more than 100%, so they will be unable to heal and shield. This is a truly godly skill, and this is the key to dealing with Percibel’s weapon, as most people who have him to +5 also have his weapon, Warmonger, to level 60. Warmonger grants Percibel a shield equal to 35% of his max HP for three turns every single time Percibel casts a skill. This, in combination with his dodge and accuracy decreasing abilities, is why Percibel can be so insanely frustrating to defeat. But with Loki, Warmonger’s ability will be all but blocked. Then, I use Valerie, to heal and cleanse my heroes, as well as reactivating my Damage Share chains. Finally, I use Elmyst, who will dispel any and all buffs that can be dispelled from Percibel (and the rest of the team, if any of them are still alive). Elmyst is also necessary to continue to make purple stones, and both Valerie and Elmyst will gain mana when they take damage, making it easier for Elmyst to continue to make more stones, even if you’re having a hard time putting the ones you already have together. So now you know why I use this team, and I’m going to explain how to make it work for you.
  3. 3. As most of you know, +5 Percibel both lowers your heroes’ accuracy by 20% for three turns *and* increases his own self dodge by 25% for three turns every time he attacks. This means, that during those three turns, it will be nearly impossible to hit him for any significant damage. On top of that, every time he does successfully dodge, he gains 10 mana, meaning that every time you attack and fail, he gains more mana, giving himself the ability to attack again, and resetting the three turn timer for his accuracy decrease and dodge. So the answer is simple. What you need to do is get as many of your heroes full mana as possible, and then match as few stones as possible as far away from Percibel as possible. If he’s on the left side of the field, match red, blue, green, and yellow stones on the right side of the field. This is where the luck part comes in; it can be somewhat difficult to pull this off every time, and you want to try to eliminate Percibel before too many Mana increase rounds happen. I spent a bit of time studying Percibel and how he responds to different types of stimulation, and this method is the most reliable way to kill a +5 Percibel. Unless you have a very, very powerful team, you probably won’t kill him on the first time you’re able to hit him without accuracy depression and increased dodge, but with patience, you should be able to do it in two or three of such. I really hope this helps you guys. It’s been a while since I’ve written any guides, and I know this is a bit unique compared to standard hero guides or mono team guides, but I also know how many of you have cursed at your screen when coming up against a +5 Percibel. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to reach out to me! May Naya Bless You All, Zamorak
