Using variables in Articulate Storyline is not as difficult as you think. Understanding how to use them is essential in just about any eLearning course you need built.

1. Adobe Acrobat XI pro : Converting PDF to PowerPoint
While PDF files are often thought of as static files with non­editable content, Adobe Acrobat XI
allows you to export PDF’s directly into Microsoft Word and Excel. And now, with Adobe Acrobat
XI Pro you can export them into fully editable PowerPoint presentations as well. This may be a
good way to import a PDF file into Articulate storyline via PowerPoint
When you convert your PDF to PowerPoint, your fonts, formats and layouts are saved as well,
so you don’t need to spend time reformatting bulleted text, tables, objects, and layouts. The
export process even saves any annotated notes as speaker notes in the exported version of the
PowerPoint presentation.
To convert a PDF to PowerPoint:
1. Open PDF that you want to export to PowerPoint in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.
2. Click Tools. The Tools menu opens in the sidebar.
3. Click Content Editing. The Content Editing sub­menu appears
4. Click Export File to … and select the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation option.
5. Give your file a name in the Save As dialog box
6. You can now open and edit the new file in Microsoft PowerPoint. Note that all the
formatting has been preserved.
If you only need some of the information in your PDF presentation, it’s fast and easy to select
and export just the portion of the slide you need.

2. You can also copy and paste select parts of your PDF file into any application file — including a
new or existing PowerPoint presentation.

Using variables in Articulate Storyline is not as difficult as you think. Understanding how to use

store data for you throughout your course. Variables may automatically be created for you in
Storyline, such as in the case of Text or Numeric Entry fields, or you can manually create them
as needed. Once created, you can then retrieve the data from those variables and display it in
your slides, use it as conditions for other content, “wire” them with triggers to create interactivity
and more. You can expand the conditions upon which variables are based as much as you want.
The only limitation is your course requirements and your imagination. Each Variable can only
hold one piece of data at a time, but that data can be updated when needed.
