  3. 3. *GENERATING POWER*<br /><ul><li>The power output of generator is 30 MW at 11 KV.
  4. 4. This plant has only one unit of 30 Mw .
  5. 5. It import electricity during maintenance .</li></li></ul><li>*BASIC COMPONENT*<br />Generator<br />Steam Turbine<br />Boiler <br />Electrostatic Precipitator<br />Power X-mer<br />Cooling Tower<br />Switch Yard<br />
  6. 6. *ALTERNATOR*<br /> Alternator is directly coupled with turbine and it convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. In this plant water cool alternator is used for generating electricity . Excitation system of alternator is brushless.<br />ALTERNATOR SPECIFICATION FOR 30MW .<br />11KV , 37.5MVA , 50Hz , 1500RPM , CONNECTION-Y , PHASE-3 , PF-0.8.<br />
  7. 7. *WATER COOL ALTERNATOR*<br />
  8. 8. *STEAM TURBINE*<br /><ul><li>With the use of boiler and then Steam Turbine makes the plant efficiency better.
  9. 9. The Steam Turbine comprises of one High Pressure Turbine and one Low Pressure Turbine.</li></li></ul><li>
  10. 10. *BOILER*<br /> Water tube boiler is used in this plant. Steam pressure at inlet is 102 kg/cm² & steam temp. at inlet is 535˚C. In this boiler , water is flow in the tube in furnace . Steam produces in tube & it collect in a drum which is situated on the top of boiler . Then steam goes to turbine .<br />

  12. 12. *ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR*<br />Electrostatic precipitator is consists of a large number of collecting electrodes. In it dust particles are charged and stick to the electrodes , hammer hit electrode and dust fall down . Dust is collect in base of ESP . Then dust is removed by air HOPPER. Transparent smoke find out in chimney .<br />

  14. 14. *POWER TRANSFORMER*<br /> To step-up or step-down the voltage and transfer power from one a.c. voltage to another a.c. voltage at the same frequency. <br />TRANSFORMER SPECIFICATION :<br /> 37.5MVA , 11/132KV , 50Hz , phases -3 , oil quantity-21725 ltr, cooling – ONAN:ONAF.<br />

  16. 16. *COOLING TOWER*<br />There are X–flow method is used for cooling the circulating water . <br />
  17. 17. *SWITCH YARD*<br />Basic Component Of Switch Yard:<br /> 1. Isolator .<br />2. Current x-mer.<br />3. Potential x-mer.<br />4. Circuit breaker .<br />5. Lightning arrester . <br />
  18. 18. * ISOLATOR *<br />These are used to disconnection transmission line under no-load condition for safety, isolation and maintenance.<br />
  19. 19. * CURRENT TRANSFORMER*<br />These are used to step-down currents for measurement, control & protection.<br />
  20. 20. *POTENTIAL TRANFORMER*<br />These are used to step-down voltage for measurement .<br />
  21. 21. * CIRCUIT BREAKER * <br />These are used for automatic switching during normal or abnormal conditions . There are sf6 circuit breaker is used .<br />
  22. 22. * LIGHTING ARRESTERS *<br />These are used to discharge lightning over voltages and switching over voltages to earth.<br />
