Mentoring – what is it?
mentor: (noun) an experienced and trusted adviser.
mentoring: (verb) advise and train someone.
Mentoring = a learning relationship, focused on long term career development.
Purpose: drive personal growth; build skills, knowledge and understanding.
Mentors may use coaching skills in their conversations, but usually the mentor role is
wider than that of a coach and may include opening doors, making connections and
sharing experiences.

Scope
Mentorship Program: 6 month continued learning program that matches experienced
RPA industry leaders — from both within UiPath and the broader community — with
professionals early in their RPA journey who are motivated to get to the next level.
The (aspiring) RPA professional and the RPA industry lead will (virtually) meet up for
unstructured or structured bi-weekly sessions to work through their own challenges or
an assignment provided by UiPath or the Mentor.
Crowdsource and organize for the greater community:
•development best practices documentation
•repository of sample assignments to practice on

Why do this?
•Onboard new developers (RPA Devs, Citizen Devs) to the UiPath products and ecosystem.
•Develop emerging professionals and leaders in RPA.
•Promotediversity - encourage and empower people from minority groups who may not currently be
exposed to developing their career in RPA.
•Career growth - assist RPA Developers in meeting their RPA career goals.

• Full-time RPA Developer or Unemployed
• Finished RPA Developer Foundation course on Academy
• Have a practical project where to apply the acquired skills and knowledge
• Response to the question: How will you demonstrate your commitment in
achieving your short- and/or long-term goals?
• MVPs (pre-vetted skill and experience)
• Full-time RPA Developer (or other RPA role) with at least 3 years
experience
• Response to the question: How will you demonstrate your commitment
to support your mentee in achieving their short- and/or long-term goals?

▪ Open the conversation with the mentor
▪ Respond in a timely manner (24h) to the mentor
▪ Respect the time of the mentor by being present in the calls (mentally, but also literally)
▪ Gain a certain degree of autonomy in your learning - how to seek resources around you, how to
reflect and keep track of your evolution; this means that you don’t wait for the mentor to tell you
what to do in order to learn
▪ See the value of receiving and giving feedback
▪ Learn and to apply your knowledge practically, also outside of your meetings with the mentor
▪ Reply in the conversation with the mentee
▪ Respond in a timely manner (24h) to the mentor
▪ Respect the time of the mentee by being present in the calls (mentally, but also literally)
▪ See the value of receiving and giving feedback
▪ Share practical experience
▪ Take responsibility for one’s own part in the process and ensures that no dependency
relationship is created.
• Be willing to spend 2 hours per month to (virtually) meet each other.
• You have plenty of time to practice, get ready for each meeting, and have a moment of reflection after every
meeting. For example, ask yourselves (Yes, both of you: “What new thing have I learned/discovered
today?”)

  • 3. 3 Mentoring – what is it? mentor: (noun) an experienced and trusted adviser. mentoring: (verb) advise and train someone. Mentoring = a learning relationship, focused on long term career development. Purpose: drive personal growth; build skills, knowledge and understanding. Mentors may use coaching skills in their conversations, but usually the mentor role is wider than that of a coach and may include opening doors, making connections and sharing experiences.

  • 5. 5 Scope Mentorship Program: 6 month continued learning program that matches experienced RPA industry leaders — from both within UiPath and the broader community — with professionals early in their RPA journey who are motivated to get to the next level. The (aspiring) RPA professional and the RPA industry lead will (virtually) meet up for unstructured or structured bi-weekly sessions to work through their own challenges or an assignment provided by UiPath or the Mentor. Crowdsource and organize for the greater community: •development best practices documentation •repository of sample assignments to practice on
  • 6. 6 Why do this? •Onboard new developers (RPA Devs, Citizen Devs) to the UiPath products and ecosystem. •Develop emerging professionals and leaders in RPA. •Promotediversity - encourage and empower people from minority groups who may not currently be exposed to developing their career in RPA. •Career growth - assist RPA Developers in meeting their RPA career goals.

Mentee Mentor •Get direction, tips, advice, suggestions, motivation, and support from highly experienced RPA industry leaders •Ability to practice on real-world assignments, ask questions, and understand the problem-solving approach of their mentor •Explore issues and concerns in a confidential and supportive relationship •Learn from the real-life experiences of others •Give back to the community •Enhance leadershipand interpersonalskills •Gain intellectualchallengeby working on issues outside their day to day experience •Discover fresh perspectives that may assist with their own work
  • 8. 8 Selection Criteria Mentee Mentor • Full-time RPA Developer or Unemployed • Finished RPA Developer Foundation course on Academy • Have a practical project where to apply the acquired skills and knowledge • Response to the question: How will you demonstrate your commitment in achieving your short- and/or long-term goals? • MVPs (pre-vetted skill and experience) • Full-time RPA Developer (or other RPA role) with at least 3 years experience • Response to the question: How will you demonstrate your commitment to support your mentee in achieving their short- and/or long-term goals?
  • 10. 10 Norms and responsibilities Mentee Mentor ▪ Open the conversation with the mentor ▪ Respond in a timely manner (24h) to the mentor ▪ Respect the time of the mentor by being present in the calls (mentally, but also literally) ▪ Gain a certain degree of autonomy in your learning - how to seek resources around you, how to reflect and keep track of your evolution; this means that you don’t wait for the mentor to tell you what to do in order to learn ▪ See the value of receiving and giving feedback ▪ Learn and to apply your knowledge practically, also outside of your meetings with the mentor ▪ Reply in the conversation with the mentee ▪ Respond in a timely manner (24h) to the mentor ▪ Respect the time of the mentee by being present in the calls (mentally, but also literally) ▪ See the value of receiving and giving feedback ▪ Share practical experience ▪ Take responsibility for one’s own part in the process and ensures that no dependency relationship is created. • Be willing to spend 2 hours per month to (virtually) meet each other. • You have plenty of time to practice, get ready for each meeting, and have a moment of reflection after every meeting. For example, ask yourselves (Yes, both of you: “What new thing have I learned/discovered today?”)
