Applying Propp’s Character types

Theorist Vladimir Propp, looked at thecharacters in stories (fairy/folk takes inparticular) and stated there were eight basiccharacters in traditional narrative that we canagain transpose to film. According to Propp,the characters are: the hero, the false hero,the villain, the donor, the princess, the father,the helper and the dispatcher. I have selecteda character from two British Realism films thatI think would be each of Propps charactersaccording to his theory. I chose to look at FishTank and Bullet Boy.
