Downloading OverDrive eBooks to Your Kindle

Download eBooks from Cortland Free Library to Your Kindle!Prerequisites  You must have a library card to sign out eBooks.  You must have an active Kindle account with Amazon.Downloading Books to Your KindleLeft click on the “Download Audio Books” picture on Cortland Free Library’s homepage to accesseBooks. There are links along the right hand side in the green bar for you to choose all eBook adultfiction or nonfiction to help your search.Note: Public library books require an active Wi-Fi connection for wireless delivery to a Kindle device.Library books will not be delivered via your Kindles 3G connection. If trying to send to a Kindle device anddo not have an active Wi-Fi connection, you may instead choose to load your library book via USB. BothMac and Windows users can manage Kindle content through a USB connection.1.) Left click“Add to My Download Cart” when you find the book you want to download, but make surethe book is a “Kindle Book”2.) Then click on “Proceed to Checkout”:
  2. 2. 3.) Now you’ll be prompted to sign in to your patron account: Located beneath the barcode on your library card By default, the last 4 digits of your phone number4.) You’ll be asked to “Confirm Check Out.” Notice that you have the option to choose a 7, 14, or 21 daycheck out.5.) Left click “Get for Kindle”6.) You will be transferred to Amazon’s website to “Get library book.”
  3. 3. 7.) You will have to sign-in to your Amazon account and transfer the book to your Kindle as with anyother book. Choose your device from the “Deliver to” menu, and choose “Get library book” to send thebook to your reading app or device. Need more help?
