TASK (1A)
 Indian low-cost airlines SpiceJet has joined the International Air
Transport Association (IATA). SpiceJet is the first Indian budget carrier
to join the IATA, which has over 290 airlines as members. The
membership of IATA will allow SpiceJet to explore and grow its
collaborations with international member airlines of IATA through
interlining and code shares and also enables to seamlessly expand
the network options for its passengers in future
 Upcoming Jewar Airport to be India's largest with 6 runways
Jewar airport, after completion, will be among the largest airports in the
world, including O'Hare International Airport, Daxing International Airport
, and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
 State-run Airports Authority of India (AAI) has inked agreement with US Trade and
Development Agency (USTDA) to develop a roadmap for modernisation of its air traffic
services. Air traffic services (ATS) comprises air traffic management (ATM) and
communication, navigation and surveillance ,CNS
 Union Civil Aviation Ministry launched the upgraded version of AirSewa 2.0 web portal and
mobile app in New Delhi. The major improvements in upgraded version of web portal include
features such as secure sign-up and log-in with social media, chatbot for tavellers support,
improved grievance management including social media grievances.
 India will be among the top three aviation market by 2024 according to International Air
Transport Association (IATA) in its 20- year air passenger forecast report. India is currently at
seventh position in Global Aviation market. Key Highlights Of Report The number of air
passengers around the world will double to 8.2 billion in 2037
PARTS OF AN AIRCRAFTS
 COCKPIT- A cockpit or flight deck is the area, usually near the front of an aircraft or spacecraft, from which a pilot
controls the aircraft. The cockpit of an aircraft contains flight instruments on an instrument panel, and the controls
that enable the pilot to fly the aircraft.
 CARGO-In economics, the words cargo and freight refer in particular to goods or produce being conveyed –
generally for commercial gain – by water, air or land. Cargo was originally a shipload. Cargo now covers all types
of freight, including that carried by rail, van, truck, or intermodal container.
 SLIDE RAFT-A slide/raft is an evacuation slide that can be used both as a means of escape in a land
evacuation and as a life raft in a landing on water. Slide/rafts usually feature an erectable canopy, outer
compartments to hold passengers and survival packs containing items such as leak stoppers, paddles and flares
 EXTERIOR PART-The components are: the horizontal and vertical stabilizer, the rudder, trim tabs, and the
elevators. The rudder runs along the vertical stabilizer, while the elevator exists within the horizontal stabilizer.
Each stabilizer has trim tabs.
 INTERIOR PART-An aircraft cabin is the section of an aircraft in which passengers travel. ... In
commercial air travel, particularly in airliners, cabins may be divided into several parts.
These can include travel class sections in medium and large aircraft, areas for flight attendants, the
galley and storage for in-flight service.
 PSU-A passenger service unit (PSU) is an aircraft component situated above each row in the
overhead panel above the passenger seats in the cabin of airliners. Among other things, a PSU
contains reading lights, loudspeakers, illuminated signs, air condition vents, and automatically
deployed oxygen masks
 JUMP SEAT-In aviation, a jump seat or jumpseat is an auxiliary seat for individuals—other than
normal passengers—who are not operating the aircraft. ... The term originated in the United States c.
1860 for a movable carriage seat
 CIDS- (Cabin Intercommunication Data System) is the core digital cabinmanagement system used
in all Airbus aircraft. ... The system consists of a central computer, the director, the director interface
board, one or more flight attendant panels and a data network for audio transmission in the cabin
EMBARKATION &
DISEMBARKATION
PROCEDURES OF
PASSENGERS
TASK (3)
VVIP/VIP
 These passengers are boarded last & deplaned first at the destination. Very often
extra security accompanies the flights in which these passengers are travelling
 Special menu, extra crew are sometimes provided on these flights.
 The passengers who fall into thses categories are:-
 Presidents & head of states of countries
 Prime ministers & head of governments
 Vice-presidents
 Royal visitors & members of royal families
 Governors of states & cabinet ministers
CIP- Commercially important person
 Passengers who fall in this category are:-
 CEOs & Managing Directors of big commercial house
 Prominent personalities related to the Travel Industry
 Prominent Business personalities be it academic or commercial
 The services rendered to these passengers is similar to that provided toVIPS/VVIP’s
EMERGENCY EQUIPMENTS
TASK(4)
 SMOKE HOOD-A smoke hood is a protective device similar in concept to a
gasmask. A translucent airtight bag seals around the head of the wearer
while an air filter held in the mouth connects to the outside atmosphere
and is used to breathe. Smoke hoods are intended to protect victims of fire
from the effects of smoke inhalation
 OXYGEN BOTTLE- Oxygen systems are designed to store or to generate a
supply of pure oxygen and to regulate, dilute as required and then distribute
that oxygen to crew or passengers.Oxygen systems are installed in many
military aircraft and in most commercial and business aircraft types
 FIRE AXE- A special type of axe used by firefighters, typically featuring a
pick-shaped pointed poll (area of the head opposite the cutting edge) and in
a vivid color to make it easily visible during an emergency.
 ASBESTOS GLOVES-Asbestos gloves, or mittens, were used from the
1900s to the 1980s. The gloveshad between 40% and 100% asbestos. Metal
workshops, steel plants, glass workers and firefighters used these gloves.
They were used in these jobs because they protected the hands from very high
temperatures and were slash and tear resistant
 FIRE EXTINGUISERS-A fire extinguisher is an active fire protection device
used to extinguish or control small fires, often in emergency situations. ...
Stored pressurefire extinguishers are the most common type.
 OXYGEN MASK-An oxygen mask provides a method to transfer
breathing oxygen gas from a storage tank to the lungs. Oxygen masks may
cover only the nose and mouth (oral nasal mask) or the entire face (full-
face mask).
 MEGAPHONE-A megaphone, speaking-trumpet, bullhorn, blowhorn, or loudhailer is
usually a portable or hand-held, cone-shaped acoustic horn used to amplify a person's
voice or other sounds and direct it in a given direction
 ELT-EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER (ELT) ELTs are emergency transmitters
that are carried aboard most general aviation aircraft in the U.S. In the event of an aircraft
accident, these devices are designed to transmit a distress signal on 121.5 and 243.0
MHz frequencies, and for newer ELTs, on 406 MHz.
 LIFE JACKETS-life jackets have cartridges of carbon dioxide gas sewn into them. When
activated, the gas will release and fill the chambers of the jacket. ... Both of these
inflatable devices include tubes that a person can blow into, providing a backup way to
inflate the jacket.
CONCLUSION
This work helped me to identify the parts of an aircrafts, current scenario of aviation
sector, embarkation & disembarkation procedures of passengers and I got an idea
about the emergencies that we will have to face. I came to know about the safety and
emergency equipments also.
Once again I would like to thank our Aviation teacher, JASKIRAN Ma’am , it wouldn’t
be possible without her help
