  3. 3. 1. Enabling the extension User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 3 To make the module work go to Admin panel -> System -> Configuration -> ‘Sales’ tab -> Shipping methods. Set this option to ‘Yes’ to enable the module. You can make shipping available both for all countries and for specific ones only. From the list of countries please choose those, for which you would like to create shipping methods with the module. If this option is set to ‘Yes’ the parameters (like weight, number etc.) of all the products that are suitable for free shipping will be excluded from the calculations. Set this option to ‘No’ if you want to calculate the number and weight of free shipped items, just like any other product in the order.
  4. 4. 1. Enabling the extension User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 4 When you set this option to ‘Yes’, price and quantity of virtual products won’t be considered for calculation of shipping rates for orders. Select comparison logic for post codes. Strings – compares numbers and letters. Numbers – compares postcodes as % wilscard symbols When you set this option to ‘Yes’, price and quantity of virtual products won’t be considered for calculation of shipping rates for orders.
  5. 5. 1. Enabling the extension User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 5 You can indicate that a shipping rate should apply to price of the product after discount. Let's say a product costs $100. If after the discount it becomes $70, shipping rate for 70-dollar products will apply to it. When the option is enabled, the module will show a shipping method even if it doesn’t have a rate for the shopping cart. An error massage will be displayed to customer. If all products in cart have different shipping types, the module will select a rate with shipping type set to All. If such method is not available, no shipping option will be displayed to customer.
  6. 6. 1. Enabling the extension User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 6 Choose what shipping type attribute will be selected when bundle product is in cart. Shipping type can be taken from the bundle product itself or from a particular item. It depend on shipment product option When set to Together – bundle shipping type will be taken. If set to Separate – shipping type will depend on a particular product
  7. 7. To create shipping methods please go to admin panel -> Sales -> Shipping Table Rates 2. Where to create custom shipping methods To add a method please click ‘Add Method’ button. User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 7
  8. 8. 3. General method information User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 8 At the ‘General’ tab you can activate the method, specify its name and submit a comment. You can choose to ship certain products free of charge. The feature is especially useful when a customer adds to cart two items with different product types, but a shipping method can’t be used for one of them.
  9. 9. 3. General method information User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 9 You can create comments and add pictures for each shipping method. All the comments will be displayed on the checkout and shopping cart pages (see page 24).
  10. 10. 3. General method information User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 10 If products with different shipping types are added to cart, you can specify whether to show the sum of their shipping rates or use minimal/maximal rates for all products in cart. Assign a minimum and a maximum shipping cost to a method. E.g. if the total calculated is greater than the maximum cost, the price will be decreased to the maximum cost amount.
  11. 11. 3. General method information User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 11 Translate the name and the comment of a shipping methods for different store views.
  12. 12. 4. Select store view and customer groups At the ‘Stores & Customer Groups’ tab you can choose at which store view and for which customer groups the method should be available. User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 12
  13. 13. 5. Import CSV file with shipping rates At the ‘Import’ tab you can import csv file with the rates information. You can find sample csv file at the specified url and within the extension package. Please see the next pages for explanation on csv structure. If you set ‘Delete Existing Rates’ option to ‘Yes’, all rates previously imported for this method, will be deleted. User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 13
  14. 14. At the ‘Methods and Rates’ tab you can view the imported rates. You can see address, price, quantity, weight, shipping rate and shipping type data here. ‘Rate’ column – means base rate for the order which qualifies for the specified address, product price, weight and quantity parameters. In this case the flat rate of 12 will be applied to order shipped to Arkansas, with total product price between 33 and 880, quantity between 2 and 2000, etc. ‘PPP’ column – percent per product. In this situation shipping will be calculated as 3% of total product price. ‘FRPP’ column – flat rate per product. Flat shipping rate of 7 will be added for each product within the order. ‘FRPUW’ column – flat rate for the unit of weight (kg or lb) ‘Shipping type’ column. All the rates you defined in ‘Rate’, ‘PPP’, ‘FRPP’ and ‘FRPUW’ columns will apply only to the products of the shipping type you assign in ‘Shipping type’ field. This way you can create unlimited number of rates for one or several products of specific types. The process of assignment of products to ‘shipping types’ will be described further in this user guide. 6. View imported rates User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 14
  15. 15. ‘Rate’, ‘PPP’, ‘FRPP’ and ‘FRPUW’ are added to each other, so in our situation shipping will be calculated as 50 per order plus 3 percent of total product price plus flat rate of 7 plus 0,1 for the unit of weight for each product. If we have in cart 7 products which cost 2000 and weigh 200 lb, with ‘extra large’ shipping type, the price of shipping to Arkansas will be: 151 = 50 (flat rate per order) + 60 (3% of product price) + 49 (7 per product) + 20 (0.1 for each lb of weight) For extra large products shipped to NY shipping rate is less in our setup. Also, shipping rate differs for the goods, located in CA storehouse when they are shipped to the other coast (NY), etc. 6. View imported rates User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 15
  16. 16. 7. Edit existing rates and add new ones To edit a rate, please click on the record. To add a new rate record, please click ‘Add New Rate’ button. User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 16
  17. 17. 8. Example of csv file with rates In the csv file you can specify a value for each column of ‘Methods and Rates’ tab. You can find sample csv file within the extension package. If you use “*” symbol for some column, it means that the rate will be applied to all values of this parameter. For example if you specify “*” for zip column, the rates will be applied to order with any zip code. User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 17
  18. 18. 9. Shipping type As it was described before, you can use ‘shipping type’ attribute for a product or a group of products to make a shipping rate work only for this particular product or group of products. To create the options for ‘shipping type’ attribute please go Catalog -> Attributes -> Manage attributes -> Edit Product Attribute "Shipping Type“-> Manage Label/Options. Create the options you will use for the shipping rates. User Guide: Shipping Table Rates Support: http://amasty.com/contacts/ Page 18
  19. 19. 9. Shipping type After you’ve created the necessary options, they are available for assignment to any product from your product list. Go to Catalog -> Manage Products and choose a product. You can assign any value of the attribute to the product. Then once you create a shipping rate for this shipping type, the rate will apply only to the products with the shipping type.
