  2. 2. Where is the Tuataras habitat commonly found?• The Tuatara is found in places with bush and shrubs and where there are little or no cats and rats. The tuataras habitat is in the native bush.• Tuataras need to be where seabirds are burrowing.• The Tuatara is commonly found in Cook Strait and Stephens Island. They can also be found in Marlborough Sounds.
  3. 3. How can the Tuataras habitat can be affected by us?• Littering can attract rats which can kill a Tuatara.• Humans, can easily create fire and it will burn down the bush which is part of the Tuataras habitat.
  4. 4. The Tuataras enemies• The enemies of the Tuataras are rats, cats and birds• Rats, cats and birds show threat to the Tuatara by eating them and injuring them.
  5. 5. How can we help save the Tuatara?• We can help save the Tuatara by laying humane traps to catch the rats and cats.• Educating the public to take their rubbish with them when they leave and to ensure all camp fires are extinguished properly.
