Third Annual Delivering Alpha Conference - Featured speakers including- Timothy Geithner, Henry Kravis, James Chanos, and more

  1. 1. CNBC and Institutional Investor Announce Third Annual Delivering Alpha Conference FEATURED SPEAKERS INCLUDING: TIMOTHY GEITHNER, HENRY KRAVIS, JAMES CHANOS, AND MORE.
  2. 2. Previewing Delivering Alpha 2013In just two years, Delivering Alpha has become the premierinvestment conference of the year. Were now beginning to puttogether the panels and keynote presenters for the thirdDelivering Alpha, on July 17, 2013, at the Pierre Hotel in NewYork City.Structuring an elite, daylong investment program can be tricky.Thats especially true when the objective is to produce the mostthoughtful, provocative, actionable event anywhere—one thatbrings together policymakers, portfolio managers, hedge fundtitans and even federal prosecutors. (Lets just say that whenPreet Bharara, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of NewYork, spoke to Delivering Alpha last year, people listened.Intently. There was, frankly, a little bit of nervous laughter fromtime to time.)
  3. 3. Despite the challenges, Delivering Alpha is almost as stimulating to puttogether as it is to attend. Thats because it is a joint presentation of CNBCand Institutional Investor, two of the most respected names in business andfinancial journalism. Between them, they have unrivaled access to the verybest people at the highest levels of government, business, finance andacademia. Couple that with an advisory board that last year included suchinvesting luminaries as Laurence Fink of BlackRock, Leon Cooperman ofOmega Advisors and Dr. Mohammed El-Erian of Pimco and you can see whythis event is a coveted destination for investment professionals and peoplewho simply want to become smarter at managing money. For me, the highlight of last years program—apart from the audiencesquirming during Preet Bhararas interview with CNBCs Jim Cramer—wasprobably Steve Liesmans side-by-side conversation with Robert Rubin andHank Paulson Jr. Both, of course, were U.S. Treasury secretaries. Both werethe leaders of the nations preeminent investment bank, Goldman Sachs. Andboth care deeply about America and the challenges it faces. Though they comefrom and served presidents of different political parties, they put partisanshipaside and focused constructively on the big issues confronting the nation. Itwas an education just to listen to them and compare their analysis with that ofthen-Treasury secretary Timothy Geithner, who had joined Larry Kudlow onstage earlier in the day.
  4. 4. Lest you think that Delivering Alpha is all about policy, let me assure youthat its not. Among our panelists and keynoters last year were HenryKravis, Jim Chanos, Bill Ackman, Barry Sternlicht and JaneMendillo, CEO of the Harvard Management Company, to name just a few.Bottom line: There were a lot of dollars—and lot of common sense—atDelivering Alpha 2012. This years edition promises to be a day you wontwant to miss. All previous information from CNBC.
