An open badge is a digital graphic with a name accompanied by a description awarded to a person by another person or organization (issuer) who has demonstrated specific skills/knowledge. By being instantly verifiable (evidence, issuer) open badges have an advantage over paper-based degrees, resumes, and transcripts.
