  2. 2. QUESTION 1: IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TECHNOLOGY USE AND TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION? <ul><li>I believe that there is no difference between technology use and technology integration. I think that if a classroom is using technology as a tool for learning then it is automatically integrated into the classroom, as well as the class’s curriculum. Using a technological tool will hopefully help students learn a certain concept while using it. If a student is using a certain tool to help them achieve academic success, then it should be considered a part of the lesson. </li></ul>
  3. 3. QUESTION 2: EXPLAIN WHY YOU THINK THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TECHNOLOGY USE AND INTEGRATION <ul><li>Example 1: Semantic Networking . Tools such as Inspiration and Mind Mapper assist in a student’s studying by creating concept maps and outlines that perfect organization and learning. These tools are very helpful to students because they can be color coded, which benefits the visual learners, and shows the relationship between the material. If a student is using a program on the computer or internet that will help them study, then it becomes integrated into the student’s studying. </li></ul>
  4. 4. QUESTION 2 CONTINUED <ul><li>Example 2: Blogging. Blogs are very helpful and beneficial to both teachers and students in the classroom. A teacher can use the blog to post new assignments and updates. Students can use them to post various assignments. Students and teachers will learn to rely on the classroom blog for any information that pertains to the classroom, thus making it an integrated technology tool. Examples of blogs are Wiki, Facebook, and Myspace. </li></ul>
  5. 5. QUESTION 2 CONTINUED <ul><li>Example 3: Interactive Whiteboards. While interactive whiteboards are still very expensive and not seen in most American classrooms as of today, they still are considered great technological tools that help students learn. Interactive whiteboards help both general and special education students because it provides a visual insight to the lesson. Students can also use the whiteboard to display their answers and knowledge to the rest of the class. Having students use interactive whiteboards to learn makes it a highly effective integrated classroom tool. </li></ul>
  6. 6. QUESTION 2 CONTINUED <ul><li>Example 4: Internet. The internet could be considered the most widely used technology tool in the classroom. Students would have no other way to get guaranteed up-to-date information daily from a computer that’s right inside the classroom. Without the internet, students would not be able to obtain information for classroom projects and reports. The internet can always be integrated into the classroom with every school subject. Having students access the internet to retrieve information helps them integrate what they found on the internet to their work. </li></ul>
  7. 7. QUESTION 2 CONCLUSION <ul><li>As I have stated in the previous slides, I believe that there is no difference between technology use and integration in the classroom. If a technology tool is used to help a student in his or her assignments and studies then it automatically becomes integrated in the classroom. If a students finds success when using a certain technology tool, chances are the student will want to use it again in order to reach full academic success. </li></ul>
