  2. 2. OVERVIEW What is a Smart Strip? The Smart Strip an innovation in power strip technology that allows users in the workplace, or at home to dramatically reduce their energy usage.
  3. 3. THE SMART STRIP! •It has the shape of a normal power strip. •The only difference is the 2- colored plug socket.

  7. 7. STEP ONE: PLUG INTO OUTLET Plug the Smart Strip into an outlet and wait for the GREEN light to turn on before you plug it in.

  9. 9. STEP 3 Once you have your devices in, turn the dial to the side with the (+) positive side (to the right) until a red light appears. Once it has appeared, the plugged in devices are on, and you are ready to save some energy!
  10. 10. STEPS FOR DOING AN AUDIT AT YOUR UNIVERSITY WITH SMART STRIPS 1. Purchase smart strips 2. Select test site (office setting works best) 3. Define design case (appliances) 4. Define testing period for baseline and smart strip test. 5. Begin baseline testing without smart strip 6. Collect baseline readings 7. Set up smart strip, using consistent appliances. 8. Collect design case results 9. Analyze data and implement technology 10. SAVE MONEY
