All Rights Reserved. 3 Lessons from Life • Know yourself well--what are you really good at and why? • Culture matters--you are a part of it, build it for values that matter to you. • Business is deeply personal, do something that you really love. • Success comes in many forms, big and small, so do failures. Both are critical. • Passion, energy and adaptability are as important as sheer individual effort. • Have a broad plan, but don‟t box yourself in to very precise definitions, they just reduce your options • Learn something new every year, find ways to stay relevant and competitive. It doesn‟t matter how senior you are! • Hang on to a great boss they are hard to find! 3

Adults! • Boundary less behavior ….no turf wars, • Company first--do what's right, wear the Big Hat, solve for company wide issues. • Teamwork matters and gets rewarded. • Customers First before short term internal goals. • Strong bias for action and execution, speed over analysis. • Make mistakes, take a few risk….. • Hire better than yourself, all great managers do. • Love what you do….execution, process, technology. • Look for tough assignments, out of the box roles. • There‟s an infinite capacity to improve everything!!!

All Rights Reserved. 5 How (Not) to Build a Career • Take a risk, make a bet, only one life to lead! • Your career is entirely your responsibility not your boss, colleagues, or anyone else. • Its never about the money--all of you are already successful by any yardstick-- so what's next? • Never lose that edge of impatience, there's an infinite capacity to improve. • Understand the nuances of success, the ability to persuade and influence is vital. • Its ok to suck up to your boss from time to time, we've all done it but don't overdo it! • Play for the long term. The risk of leaving is often greater than the risk of staying.

All Rights Reserved. 6 How (Not) to Build a Career--Contd. • Take the hard road, you can often learn more from failure than success. • Figure out how to make a real impact-what really matters to the company and yourself? • Avoid petty politics, it will always land you in trouble and distract you from your goal. • There is no replacement for focus and commitment. You must play for the long term--this is a marathon not a sprint. • Success will require different strategies and tactics at different times. People management is often the most important attribute you need-- learn it. • Learn the language of Finance, its the language of business. • Strategy is critically important and the hardest to learn. How do you grow exponentially? How do you scale? Think deeply about this issues. Too much to do in too little Time!

How To Build Your Career  Your Career Is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY – Take Charge; Stop Whining – Don‟t Be A Victim – Be Proactive  Everybody Gets A Bad Boss – You Might Be One Yourself!  Have A General Plan Of What You Want To Do; Take Risks – Get Involved In Tough But Important Projects Achieve Clarity On What Your Core Strengths Are (Experience Dependent) ; Be Good At Something! 7

And Who Have „Fire In The Belly‟  Execution Is 90% Of The Game – All Your People Must Be Able To Make Decisions And Execute  Learn Everyday – Massive Amount Of Information/Analysis Available You Are Being Evaluated At All Levels; Feedback Is Continuous – Not Just At Time Of EMS – “Listen” And ACT Be APOLITICAL 8
