  2. 2. Small Country Big Games Slovakia is relative new comer to the European community and as such has benefit from a fast growing economy. Although a small country, Slovakia is big on sport, especially Ice Hockey. Slovakia is a welcoming country for foreigners to visit and work.
  3. 3. Teaching English in Slovakia After it’s induction to the European Union in 2004 Slovakia has turned into an advanced economy and is growing year on year rapidly. Tourism is on the up too making English an important language for many Slovaks. Teaching English in Slovakia can be both rewarding and exciting.
  4. 4. A country of many attractions Slovakia is a beautiful country to visit let alone work. It is home to some very old culture including historic castles. It’s wonderful summer landscape is featured by mountains and valleys and of course riverways.

  6. 6. University Degree? It is possible to find work as an English teacher without a degree at many schools and colleges throughout Slovakia. Of course to increase your chances of getting the best paid salary a bachelors degree will always help.
  7. 7. Teaching Certificates The vast majority of schools and colleges will expect you to have one of the internationally recognized teaching certificates such as a TEFL, CELTA or TESOL. If you choose to do private English tuition on a one on one basis and you are a native English speaker then you may get work without one of these certificates.
