  2. 2. Tobacco  Tobacco is a plant that comes from America. There are more than 70 different types of tobacco: cigars, cigarettes, pipe tobacco…  Tobacco is used to help make medicines.  The leaves of this plant can be ground into a very fine dust and smoked in cigarettes or chewed.

  4. 4. TYPES OF TABACCO There are 4 basic varieties: "Blonde", "Black", “Cigar" and “Oriental”.  Blonde tobacco: It has a yellow-orange colour. It is mostly cultivated in Brazil, India, Zimbabwe, Turkey and the United States.  Black tobacco: it is similar to the blonde tobacco, but it is thicker and darker .  Oriental tobacco : it is the smallest and most robust of all the types of tobacco. It is cultivated in Turkey and in Middle East; in summer, when temperatures are high.  Cigar : A cigar is a tightly-rolled bundle of dried and fermented tobacco. Cigar tobacco is grown in significant quantities in Brazil, Cameroon, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Indonesia, Mexico, Nicaragua, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Canary Islands (Spain), Italy and the Eastern United States.
