What You Can Expect from this Session <ul><li>Know the basic differences between Elluminate and IVS </li></ul><ul><li>Know what to do to schedule a meeting </li></ul><ul><li>Know what information others need to participate in the meeting </li></ul><ul><li>Know what to do to get people settled into the meeting </li></ul><ul><li>Practice uploading a PPT presentation </li></ul><ul><li>Learn how to take notes or record the meeting </li></ul>

Elluminate’s Primary Differences <ul><li>Anyone can join an Elluminate meeting from a desktop or laptop wherever there is internet connection– no need to drive to a specific location. </li></ul><ul><li>No competition for scheduling—There can be numerous meetings scheduled for the same time. (They will occur in separate meeting spaces.) </li></ul><ul><li>People need mics if they are going to talk and cameras if they want to see each other in real-time. </li></ul><ul><li>Capacities for polling, presenting, chatting in text, visiting websites, sharing documents, and recording the session are all possible through this one electronic space. </li></ul>

What Participants Need to Know <ul><li>Meeting Date and Time and link to meeting </li></ul><ul><li>Login directions and a password if you are using one for the meeting </li></ul><ul><li>Recommendation to allow for a little extra time for set-up before the meeting (10 min.) </li></ul><ul><li>That a mic that plugs into his or her computer is needed if they are going to be heard </li></ul><ul><li>Who to phone if they can’t get into Elluminate </li></ul><ul><li>(Sample Email is available.) </li></ul>

Getting People Settled in the Meeting <ul><li>Greet people as they come online. </li></ul><ul><li>Explain how to use the mic (one person at a time, click on mic, release mic so the next person can talk). </li></ul><ul><li>Have everyone try their mics. </li></ul><ul><li>Encourage people to share pictures. </li></ul><ul><li>Briefly review the parts of the screen and tools such as hand-raising, and chat. </li></ul>

How to Upload PPT <ul><li>Only Moderators can upload items </li></ul><ul><li>Click on Folder Icon near the whiteboard </li></ul><ul><li>You’ll be asked which screen you would like to load it into for viewing </li></ul><ul><li>Click on Browse and select the PPT show from your desktop </li></ul><ul><li>Let’s try that now… </li></ul>

One Way to Take Notes <ul><li>Click on notetaking Icon on upper toolbar </li></ul><ul><li>(tablet with pencil) </li></ul><ul><li>Take the desired notes. </li></ul><ul><li>Export to a text file by clicking on F ile, and save as a .txt file to your desktop. </li></ul><ul><li>You can further edit the notes and distribute it as a Word document or as email. </li></ul>
  10. 10. How to Record a Meeting <ul><li>At the bottom left of the screen, look for the </li></ul><ul><li>recorder icon. Click to begin, you can then click to </li></ul><ul><li>stop or pause the recording. </li></ul><ul><li>To listen to the meeting at a later date: </li></ul><ul><li>Go to the Elluminate site and click on the meeting </li></ul><ul><li>date and then click on the “Recordings” Tab. </li></ul>
