  3. 3. YouTube is a Web 2.0 Tool. The Website is used to watch millions of videos of practically anything. From absurd things to music videos to people blogging to movie trailers. Literally anything. YouTube is used every day all over the world by hundreds of millions of people. It is one of the top websites on the Web and one of the most viewed websites. <br /><br />Overview<br />

YouTube was founded by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim, who were all early employees of PayPal, in February 2005.<br />In November 2006, YouTube, was bought by Google Inc. for $1.65 billion, and is now operated as a subsidiary of Google.<br />The domain name was activated on February 15, 2005, and the website was developed over the subsequent months<br />The first YouTube video was entitled Me at the zoo, and shows founder Jawed Karim at San Diego Zoo.<br />The video was uploaded on April 23, 2005, and can still be viewed on the site<br />History/Creator<br />
  5. 5. The purpose of Youtube is to watch and share videos with everyone all over the globe on the internet. <br />Purpose<br />
  6. 6. Youtube contains good and bad content. There are millions of inappropriate videos, but also millions of appropriate videos. Youtube has been highly criticized for its inappropriate content. If a video is too bad though, it can be flagged and will be taken off the website. Tons of videos are denied by Youtube to be put on their site. The content comes from Youtube users who upload videos whenever they want.<br />Content<br />
  7. 7. Uses<br />People use Youtube for several reasons. People use it to blog, people use it to comment on things going on in the world, people use it to make fun of people in the world, and people use Youtube to just post random videos that they and others would find amusing. <br />
  8. 8. How<br />Youtube is considered a Web 2.0 Tool because it shares information, has social-networking, is a video sharing website, has interoperability, has a user-center design, and has collaboration on the World Wide Web. <br />

The majority of the people who view or use Youtube love the website. <br />The Website is a top favorite for millions of people as well.<br />But like every website, there are people who do not like the website. People think the website is inappropriate and should not be showing some of the videos they have.<br />Opinions<br />
  11. 11. Positives/Negatives<br />Positives: The website connects millions of people on the World Wide Web. The Website is extremely convenient for watching anything you desire. <br />Negatives: There is some inappropriate content that is not suitable for children. Videos are blocked, but you can fake your age on the website and watch videos not for children.<br />
