Christie’s to Offer Two Iconic Picasso Portraits this Month

Two major Pablo Picasso’s portraits, one from 1932 depicting his mistress Marie-Thérèse Walter, and the other from 1962 portraying his second wife Jacqueline Roque, will highlight Christie’s evening sale of 20th-century art in London. Painted 30 years apart, “these vibrant, easily recognizable portraits are enabling us to compare different periods of Picasso’s life and career,” says Keith Gill, Christie’s co-head of the 20-century art evening sale. Christie’s 20th-century art evening sale will be conducted from London, and live streamed via Hong Kong and New York salerooms.
