3. History of Openshift
• Openshift was initial released on May 4, 2011 => V2
• Origin of V2 was annouced 2012
• This was pre docker era
• V2 was designed with gears and cartridges
• V3 was released at Red Hat summit 2015
• V3 use Docker, kubernetes and Red Hat extensions
• Changed a lot Since the first release

5. Is this Openshift something what I need/want ?
• Openshift is vendor supported
• Openshift uses selinux as first class citizen
• Openshift makes TLS handling easy ;-)
• Can be deployed on a lot of x86 platforms
• It’s complex
• When you use it in passing, you will fail
• DON’T use NFS as persistent Storage!
• Choose one of supported except NFS
